Grew up listening to Bowies music. He was certainly an innovative musician. A very sad day.

He was a generational great, he added some much to the music over the past decades just by being prepared to be innovative and out there!

Hard to believe David Bowie is gone!
Apparently had been battling cancer for the past eighteen months but had not made the news public. His music was played in the tv show Ashes to Ashes.
A great loss to music indeed.

Ran an all night tribute of David Bowies music, and continuing this morning.
He also appeared in approx. 30 movies. The 2 standout movies for me are Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence and a cowboy movie.

Ah yes it was G. Sorry for the confusion folks.
Life on Mars was shown in 2007 from memory and contained a lot of Bowies music.
Then the second show was about 12months later.

What a sad loss for music fans and DB contribution to music innovation? Also remember Merry Xmas Mr Lawrence, DBwas great in that movie.Rolling Stone magazine praised Davids new album just the other day.

Bugger! Got home a bit late and missed the tv show. Fairly certain Eno managed Bowie at one time?
And yes gtr, the movie Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence would have to be in the category of one of the best movies made.
