Very clever politics by the Barnett government to do a role reversal on the state’s budget.

You beauty that the Libs spent most of the money b4 the socialists got their hands on it and pissed it up against the wall.

Just remember, the greens are not a political party they're an ideology and a sad one at that.

Thanks and welcome back Grassy. I can't wait to read all the postings criticising the economic stewardship of EMPEROR Barnett et al. It takes a great deal of "Skill and expertise" to lose one's triple A credit rating in the middle of a mining boom. ALso, I suspect their will be voluminous critical articles on Barnett's broken promises.

I can't see the ALP winning in any place in the near future, which is unfortunate for WA. Barnett's politics reminds me a little of Bush jr's administration in the US. Electted as a fiscal Tory, the man spent money on two different wars, plus ploughed money into the car industry, and, propped up Medicare for the elderly, much of which was totally justified; but, for a long time, in America, you would still hear Republican commentators, such as, Hanity, complain about the inability of the Democrats to handle a budget. The previous Democrat administration had a budget surplus.

The Tories in this town, I am including a large part of the electorate, will never bring Barnett to account because intellectual coherence and economic facts mean nothing to them.

Labor will romp it in next time around in WA, Mcgowan is no great leader, but he is not hated either, all he has to do is keep his small ball target tactic and he will walk in, Barnett has had 8 years which is an eternity in modern politics as a leader, besides that he is on the nose big time with the electorate, I can see Nalder losing his seat in the boundary reshuffle as well, I really hope that complete numpty Brendan Grylles gets the arse int he Pilbara as well, he has rooted the local propery market creating a glut of properties, and a lot of people are very unhappy.

The one bonus I can see with the change is ending the madness of the Freight Link Road which Labor will cancel.

I have no real confidence in McGowan and certainly not Whyatt as Treasurer he has been hardly seen as a shadow Tresasurer and made no impact during a bad time in the States finances he realy should be dominating, but fails to cut through, regardless of that I think they will be in power next time around, the CFMEU will be happy, they are chucking back flips in Victoria at the mo ment with big ears in power.

Could not beleive The West lead the paper with the Fyffe injury on the day the states Public Transport was in line for massive cuts, welcome to Hickvsille!

I think politics is too serious a matter to be left to the politicians!

The last time the ALP removed the LNP from office in WA was 2001.The then opposition leader DR Gallop won that election on policy.Removing a tied state government was another factor, the current state government also looks tied. But state Labour needs alternative policys.Metronet is a start, incentives to hire and train young people not 456+457 visa holders. They will need to fix up the mess in the Tafe system and get rid of Serco in the Health system for starters there.
Who ever forms the next State Government is stuck with this APPALLING GST setup.WA are now recieving back $0.38 in the $1.Going as low as $0.13 in two years time.Just fix it you Canberra ********.Federation gave us the right to charge royaltys over our mineral deposits.

Dont worry I get the WESTERN Post every week , its my LOCAL rag and read it with Zest...was pushed by them and the NIMBIE likes of HAMMOND for a while but DIED as an issue once Col flopped on it...The only issue now is how the good folk of NORTH FREMANTLE want to quit the disasterous City of Fremantle and move to the far better run Town of Mosman Park, cant blame them I have experience of living under both and would do the SAME.

It all about the BUDGET and DEBT now and how our young people will find JOBS..not to mention ROE 8!

There isn't a railway in the world that would operate without making a loss I don't believe so I don't think the fuel price has any long term impact, they should just build them regardless of whether people use them immediately or not "Build it and they will come". Thankfully Roe 8 looks like being quashed as this is not looking any further than 10-15yrs, when are we going to get a Govt to plan for the next 50 yrs+? This why Perth will always be a backwater 20 yrs behind everyone else
