Ah yes, that was written by Andrew Bolt the shock jock who as we all know is a moderate in every sense of the word  . Here is an alternative view if you are open minded enough to read it

read both, both have some valid points.
question.... do you think Goodes and Jettas reaction/s incited the crowd?

Possibly Unka2 but this crowd reaction to Goodes has been going for many months now often with little reaction from Goodes or the other Swans players. I went to Swans Vs Hawks at the MCG in late May and the booing was pretty much the same as it was on Sunday. So it is understandable IMO that the players are getting sick of it.

Understand that. I think its been a snowball situation. Like it or not IMO Goodes with his previous antics on field ( over many years) and resultant in his lack of being suspended, has made him ( unfortuneatly) easy to dislike. Now when he pulled that 13 year old girl up, many thought it was overkill on a niave 13 year old girl. This just snowballed the dislilke for the man. Ironically people saw his AOTY as a PC token award, which again kept the momentum of the snow ball going. Then we had the war dance, which i think wasnt that well recieved either, adding even more to the snowball effect. Im not too sure if he has endeared himself to anyone ( many indigenous as well) over recent times either.

To be fair though the media blew up that 13 year old girl stuff into a massive headline. As soon as Adam found out the age of the girl he tried to downplay it and even had a meeting with her as I remember. All this was not helped of course by Eddies 'king kong' brain fade on radio the next week which had the effect of blowing the incident up again.

Agree mikeh, like many recent events Phil hughes death execution of the 2 in Bali etc, the media have to take some responsibilty for the angst they cause ( as long as it gets headlines they dont care), thank god they didnt hound phils Walsh's wife or daughter.
Funny thing about the Eddie situation is that he got off basically unscathed.

I think everyone is aware Goodes is a great advocate/role model for the Aboriginal people....and may he long continue being so...then what's the reason for why Boomer Harvey or Stevie J get booed by the oppostion fans week in week out then?....is it because of their skin colour?....or is it because as individuals ON the footy field they are irritating and irksome?.....as well as being match winners.....all 3 of those "qualities" are not endearing to opposition fans.........

Time to let it go Growler but you seem very keen to perpetuate this situation and justify the booing.

Let's all get over the wrongs on both sides and get on with the football at all levels.

Andrew Bolt..are you kidding ? , a court case found him to be not only a liar and presenter of falsehoods on Aboriginal issues, but that his material was racialy vilifying.

Bolt might be OK on some things, but if your reliant on him on Aboriginal issues your so far of track its not funny. Apart from that after being wipped on the issue dont you think he might have an axe to grind!

Try this one, it all reads the same, I like her comment about the following

There are 71 Aboriginal players in the AFL; only one is routinely booed and it has nothing to do with the colour of his skin.
These days any idiot in the crowd who yells out a racist slur is set upon by other fans, reported to authorities and promptly ejected. Some have had memberships cancelled by their club, and rightly so; there should be a zero tolerance approach to bigotry whether it’s racial, religious or homophobic.

But to muddy the waters between the tiniest racist minority and the thousands of fans who boo Goodes is not only disingenuous, it is counterproductive.

There’s no doubt that part of the reason why Goodes has continued to be loudly booed is a backlash to the hectoring of media scribes who from day one wilfully misinterpreted why the former Australian of the Year is disliked by so many opposition supporters.

Turns out football supporters don’t appreciate being falsely labelled racists.

Sadly, the ill-advised reaction of certain sections of the media, as well as club and AFL officials, has all but guaranteed that Goodes will be booed, in every away game, for the rest of his playing career and perhaps even during the retiree lap of honour on Grand Final day.

PH I couldn't get to the article as it was prescription only. To be honest from the piece above it appears that she may have missed the point that of the 71 Aboriginal players Adam is the only one who is outspoken off the field and is telling Australians a few uncomfortable truths and the reaction of many people to him on field is a lot to do with this. It is a disgusting way to treat a legend of the game.
