If Watson & Haddin somehow survive for Lords we might as well hand the Ashes urn back to the soap dodgers now and be done with it!

Mate I bet you their press goes straight to Haddin after the game & you watch that useless spud wheel out his usual spiel

How Pete Siddle wasn't picked when Harris went down is beyond me & Marsh should have walked in hey

All good points made by everybody. The problem is the Chairman Selectors believes players should retire at their own pace and in their own time; he said so with Ponting.

TOO many playing for the MONEY & the junket. Should be paid on performance. Watson should go home. Marsh is better all rounder. The old man behind the stumps will fumble but hold his place as the reserve NSW keeper isn't ready. Siddle bowls better in England than this lot. Clarke will pull the pin after we lose the ASHES.

Bowlers did their job.....all bar Johnson took 5 plus wickets for the match......the batsmen were the problem......Hazlewood had to play for accuracy, Starc for his achievements over the last 6 - 12 months and Johnson....well.... because Johnno won the ashes last time for OZ.....not too sure who Siddle would of replaced TBH.....

Watson out for Mitch Marsh.....and obviously Siddle will come in for Starc....would prefer Cummins but he is definitely a game or 7 short of match fitness......Haddin stays but unless Neville is given a run the reserve keeper will never be ready.....saying that he averages 45 plus with the bat in FC....not too sure how he isn't ready TBH....

I thought the bowlers were actually a little loose and were not consistent in line and length in the first innings. They seemed a bit non plussed with Englands new found aggressive approach. They were better in the 2nd, which gives me some hope going into Lords. The batting as you said was very disappointing, particularly given the number of 20's and 30's that were made and not converted into 50's and 100's. Marsh and Siddle in for Watson and Starc will be the changes I think but Haddin is very much on borrowed time and a poor performance at Lords may be the end of the line for him too.

Our bowling was erratic , undisciplined , impatient & not rigid with a plan for every opposing batsman

Our batting was arrogant , unthinking , impatient & bloody loose at best

Mitch Johnson put most of the top order to shame & if a 38 yo stodgy opener is the mainstay then it's gone already

If they are serious with the "form decides selection" then Haddin is gone - otherwise it's a boy's club sham
