i have mixed feelings about big al. he had a big appetite for just about everything and he fell from grace. RIP AL.

Was sad to hear the news. I think Alan Bond will be remembered for the good things. Certainly a colourful character.

Dont wish bad or evil things on anyone ( well mostly anyone ). As a person though i thought he was a terrible man.

im the same as you unka2,he has passed over and all due respects to his family. he spent time in jail, he lost his wife and daughter to suicide, he had the highs of the Americas cup and the bonds were known as the royal family of perth. love him or hate him bondy was bondy. does perth need another bondy. the bottle of SPECIAL BOND BEER was a bloody good drop.

No one wants to speak ill of the dead......but Bondy was definitely the sort who loved walking over anyone and anything to get what he wanted....he burnt a lot of folks money in his quest to protect his own when things went tits up....the article in the The Age sums up Bondy to a tee......definitely a character he was old Bondy.....

I was in the deli this morning to get the paper and a fellow who was also buying the paper said that his brother was in the can in the same wing as Bond. Bond brought new mattresses for everybody in that wing. The other inmates complained so Bond brought everyone a mattress. The joke was that Bond was bankrupt and they all wanted to know where he got the brass to buy the new mattresses.

Bondy was a rat in a lot of ways, but for sffc he was OK ,,rip bondy.

So who is gonna greet him then, St Peter? or Satan?

Hard to tell swandog, but i used to see him at my local church some sundays, who knows mate.
