I don't hate EP per se Larry..but I intensely dislike the alignment they way it is currently structured. If alignment rules around qualifying for finals, salary cap and player points were changed to make it a bit more of an even playing field I couldn't care less about EP and agreements they enter into with the beags.

But lets face facts, other clubs pay players in some form or another especially in the higher grades, be careful what you throw guys mud sticks.......

Your last paragraph is oh so true.

Re Boddington, and checking on Sporting Pulse, Edwards & Lutrell look the only ex I can see, other than Lang & De Jongh who played 1 game each. Unless I missed someone no big Boddington factor there

We spoke to one of those players you mentioned in the pre season Kirbs,

It was made clear to us that they offer of free socks and shorts and no ball fees was not even close to the offer from Kelmscott, infact the offer on the table to the said player was "too good to refuse" from Kelmscott.

Mate I must admit I don't know how many games the said player played, all I know is where there is smoke, there is usually fire

Back in the past, we as a SFL club tried to recruit a player. but the offer from a Amateur club was too good for him to knock back. The player mentioned the Coach of such team was on $X dollars of which he had to spend $XX in recruitment of players. It has been going on for years and WAAFL have an Elephant in the room.

Saw the same thing in my days in the Sunday league Kirbs, and this was back in the early 90's when there was a lot of money being thrown around. I know blokes were knocking back $300+ a week from Sunday league clubs because they had better offers to play amateurs.
