I even remember the Wentworth in William St and the legendary Criterion on Hay St with its cellar bar. You only entered there at your own risk.

Not the Criterion cellar bar as well. :(

I only visited there about a year or so ago.

What about The Globe on Wellington St. hahaha...that joint was humming at 8.00am :silly:

Met my Partner at the Globe 12 years ago. Used to get cranking around 2am and go through to past 8am

Whats his name outer?

The Manning road was a well frequented pub in the day, and The Junction in Midland. now that was a place where you had to have eyes in the back of your head! My band played a regular spot there for a while on a Thursday night and we saw some good bar brawls and if they requested a song you didnt refuse haha

Its amazing reading some of these places now gone that you forget about..i reckon we can blame reality TV and cheaper p1ss at Dan Murphys etc, they used to have live music 7 nights a week 30 odd years ago now your battling to find gig anywhere to see a decent rocknroll or blues band

I remember we played another regular Thursday night gig at the Woodbridge and the manager used to walk around with the sound metre monitoring us haha we used to blow the roof off that place as it was tiny..Xmas eve 2002 was jampacked probably our best gig experience ever

It's a bloody shame.

I might try and visit all the remaining ones, just in case they shutdown soon. At least then, I can say I was in there at least once.

I've got to have a beer at the Raffles just so I can say I have. Haven't been to many SOTR. Always caught the eye. Same with that lit up swan/Swan Lager sign at the old brewery site back when I was a boy.

Be prepared to take out a second mortgage if you're having a beer at the Raffs these days Ben.

Goodluck at the The Raffles La Hincha. You'll need plenty of cash :P
