i personally have little time for so called experts on the game.

Watching the Swans V Hawks last night, and EARLY in the fouth quarter Buddy had kicked 7 straight behinds, given away 4 or 5 dumb free kicks. He had played on, on a couple of occassions, and as he only has "one side" the opponent went that way and Buddy never "escaped". He also turned over the ball in general play more that he found a team mate as well. Yet ALL the commentators at that point agreed he had had a good game!!. Doesnt make any sense to me, the obvious was he got the ball a lot, and thats about it, his game up until that stage was poor. Why did not one of the experts have the commonsense to point that out??

yes I heard that too Unka & nearly laughed.
To think to that point Franklin had done anything other than fail is beyond me. They are all in love with his aura or something. He salvaged it partially at the end with 2 goals maybe. Can you imagine if Jason Dunstall or even moreso Peter Sumich had kicked 0.7 and given away that many free kicks, the media would NOT be praising them, they would be labling it an appalling game.

I really cringe now watching Sydney. Seeing them gain Tippet and Franklin through these AFL allowances, which include that farcical extension they had on their salary cap, and the (not much talked about) ambassador allowance to promote AFL in NSW, has gained them two incredible guns. What chance would the Bulldogs have ever gaining two players like this at the same time. In fact any club.

The whole thing stinks and is yet another failing in an already imbalanced competition. Seeing it last night just left a bitter taste in my mouth because the advantage the Swans have gained now is wrong. I thought considering the Hawks had Mitchell, Hodge and eventually Rioli out injured, and Gibson clearly played injured, they showed they are going to be hard to beat. They may lose Roughead through suspension too. Maybe 2 weeks. Then again maybe nothing, who the heck knows anymore. Its like Bingo.

Spot on Jardine. Yet despite having the human headline playing for them, along with Kurt Tippet. Chuck in the exciting Leroy Jetta, home grown Kieran Jack, Australian of the year in Adam Gooodes, and playing last years premiers, the crowd was DOWN 10% on last years figures.

Same with Natanui. On the front page of the west every day.
Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!

Nothing like Bingo. Swan have all the numbers, pity they have the $ in front. Franklin is news but no one asked if he's had driving lessons lately. Nearly cost them the game. Tippett was better.

Luke Darcy states the obvious every time.
I actually like Richo. I think he got the sooks occasionally because he was playing at Richmond. That would be enough to frustrate anyone. At least he stayed loyal.
