It's now easily the worst ground in Australia, an embarrassment, the ACB made it quite clear that capacity and facilities were the main reason the WACA lost the test, they have warned the WACA that may not get on back unless thing improve, they also made it quite clear they were open to the idea of playing at the new burswood stadium.,,,I don't think the Adelaide oval or MCG use drop ins .

Yeah right there is no chance in hell the Waca will lose a test against the poms, don't know how much you know about cricket but the uniqueness about the pitch is one of the main reasons.

Carry on about the facilities all you like five days sold out tells me that people don't give a shit as long as they see an Ashes contest and it's been an enthralling one at that.

Spot on PN. Our pitch certainly is unique...I heard one of the commentators say that it's known as the bounciest pitch in the world. There's no doubt it's a great pitch to watch a game played on. As for the amenities...to each their own I guess. If I want plush luxury, I'll stay in a 5 star hotel. Other than that, I'll go to the ground and take what's on offer and love the spectacle.

If the WACA pitch is so incredibly important to Australian cricket, why has it been dropped off the Test cricket circuit for the first time since 1970 next year,, ? So maybe we might get the occasional one now and again , is that really go enough, we have now bee relegated to the status of Tassie when it comes to cricket! ,,that good enough is it,, gee the pitch must be so bloody important ...

And how friggen hard is it sell out a ground that holds only. 21,000 ,,fark must be real hard in city our size that has a huge pommie population as well, ,,they used to get 30,000 there easy years ago..

Btw only 18,000 turned up Saturday, most likely due the he shit facilities in the heat. Lack of cover etc.

I was a WACA member for years, but gave them the flick for their shit management .

Bazza the only reason there is no Test at the WACA for next summer is because the country touring being India who also control world cricket are shit scared of playing here.
The Perth Test has the biggest viewing audience of all the Test Matches including the Melbourne Boxing Day & Sydney New Year Test Matches so the 9 Network will make sure next year is a one off as it is beamed back into Eastern States homes during prime time!

Well, Im glad you say that , becuase it sure is not what Cricket Australia said. We have had tests here for 44 years..why the sudden change? must be something more going on than being "shit scared". lol

Let's not delude ourselves Bazza. If there are four tests only which capital city is going to miss out? Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane or Adelaide? The facilities at the WACA had absolutely NOTHING to do with that decision.

So in other words the other facilities are a lot superior.

If they could get 40,000 into the WACA sold out each day - we would get one, but Adelaide and the Gabba have past us by.

Im clearly not the only one, 720 has been inudated with callers today saying the WACA is pased its used by date and the next Ashes should be at Burswood.

I have spent many days at the WACA. I am not defending the facilities at the WACA. Alll I am saying is that if one of the mainland capital cities has to miss out on a test match it will ALWAYS be Perth no matter what the facilites are in Perth.

Can guarantee you 100% that both the MCG and now this season the Adelaide oval are both drop in pitches. The MCG has been for several years.
