I thought I would start this topic as a medium for those who stated that Australia only retained its triple A rating due to the mining boom and railed agaimst the ALP Federal Government and its supposed economic incompetence. Well here is the opportunity to vent your spleen to the Barnett Liberal National Government in WA. Not only have we lost our triple A rating our debt has escalated out of control due to the extravagant and profligate spending by Barnett and his cronies. As a consequence of losing the triple A rating our interest payable is higher now.

So we have Barnett breaking election promises left, right and centre; he has shown himself to be totally incompetent when it comes to economic management as well.

Barnett is a tossa ofa Prem. Up there with Krudd for arrogance, and we know what hapened to him

I am sure there was more than you Unka2 that said that it was the mining boom that saved Australia from the GFC.

Im no expert on this S42, but not sure how much the mining money comes to WA?. Yes i still believe our resources saved the WHOLE of Aus.

I am confused. Where have all the people who made constant references to the supposed incompetent Federal Labor Government gone? Where have all the people gone who made the comment that it was the mining boom that saved Australia from the impact of the GFC?

Why isn't there the condemnation of a Liberal WA Government that has thrashed WA's triple A rating, that almost daily is reneging on election promises?

Surely they don't condone and applaud the WA's Liberal Government's incompetent handling of the WA economy?

You get no argument from me 42 around the incompetence of the state liberal govt and Barnett in particular. as for the mining boom, it was one reason we avoided the GFC...the other biggie was the $60b war chest in the form of the future fund delivered by the Howard govt. Krudd, Gillard and Swan blew that and another $300b on the national credit card that we now have to pay back.

Then again we could lose it WA Inc Style..

58s what a disgrace the Abbott Government is when it comes to the asylum situation and boat arrivals. After trumpeting the arrival of each boat via a billboard they have the unmitigated GALL AND AUDACITY to say that they won't be annoucning the arrival of anymore boats. The pure hypocrisy of Abbott and Morrison is mind numbing.

When Abbott said about Barnett that he had a few things to learn from Barnett is probably the most truthful comment that he has ever made. Duplicity and broken promises are the lessons learned from the Barnett Government.
