Can some of our bean counters and sports administrator guru's on this site enlighten me on how Netball Australia with a 1 million people player base be 7 to 11 million dollars (reported) down the gurgler and still be operating?
My accountant used to make me eat bake beans and tighten my belt when my business was going thru a rocky period!!
I’d be bloody pissed if NA asked the federal government for a handout!
Be interesting to see Fever sue NA for loss of income?

NA have to deal with this rediculous situation where the whole national team, admin and the whole sport suffer due to 1 or 2 dissatisfied players. The national team, the elite players in the world lose the opportunity for a major increase in their pay packets because of what some old fart (Lang) said decades ago. I'm ok if they want to protest by withdrawing from the team, but don't impact the rest of the team and the whole netball community in the process. Next step is fort these dissatisfied players, if they have any integrity at all, is to protest against all the other so called non PC sponsors that support NA and sit back and watch the sport wither on the vine.

...and that's the hypocrisy of it all WAG.  Wallam has taken exception to something Lang Hancock said 40 years ago but hasn't come out against governments who have done far worse to indigenous people with the stolen generations for example.  So if she and her supporters are serious, they'd also have a crack at government funding but I can guarantee we won't see any of that.  Good on Gina I say....this woke bullshit has to be called out for what it is...bullshit.

As for netball being in debt, I'd like to see their balance sheet because if they are in the red for $7m, they'd have to be insolvent because I can't see what assets they'd have other the NA brand which wouldn't be worth too much unless of course they own the teams.

Absolutely farcical situation, one of the very few people prepared to back a nearbankrupt sport, it extremely difficult economic times with costs going through the roof.

Whatever Lang said in the 80s has nothing to do with Gina or the current operations of the company.

I see now a massive back pedal by Wallam and Netball saying it was all a mistake and they were prepared to wear the Hancock sponsors name, must be going woke and broke literally.

Only mistake Gina made was giving them the curtesy of 4 months to find a new sponsor, I would of given them SFA.

We are fast approaching a time when professional sport will struggle to find sponsors to fund them, every big business has a "woke" issue, Alcohol, Gambling, Oli and Gas, Car Industry, Mining, Fast Food, Banks..you name it.

The players also got rid of Langer for a softer more Woke Coach. Our boys where listening to Meghan Markle podcasts instead of training.like Nz did.

Going to be interesting sitting back and watching the reduced sponsorship of the netball story play out.
Wonder what will happen if any of the other sponsors decide to withdraw their support?

They reckon the debt is in part from the Super Netball investment. Doenst help when only 300 people show up to watch.
Maybe they need a mens competition to promote equality and inclusion.

I think you've nailed it McBob, netball is a sport that is 95% played by women but they dont turn out to watch their teams play. Do they expect the menfolk to do the heavy lifting and attend the games to support their sport? They need to get off their arses and get more involved and not look a massive gift horse in the mouth over something from 40 years ago by someone who is no longer alive, but thats woke for you.

As for Cummins, he needs to have a long hard look at the Indian companies that bankroll the richest cricket competition in the world and see what their green credentials are. The IPL has lined his and many other Oz cricketers pockets with millions of $$ over the years, but I'm sure that fact has conveniently slipped his  mind, he has no integrity as far as I'm concerned, as is the case for the whole Woke movement.

But isn't it great to see how soft the Australian cricket team has become since they shafted JL. Lets hope Sri Lanka can dump them from the tournament next game and send a message to the poers that be. Even if that happens, CA wont do anything because the tail is wagging the dog at the moment.
