Australian cricket loses another champ.  Symo has tragically been killed in a car accident.  A great cricketer to watch and a fun sort of bloke.

another terrible shock - I'll remember that big hundred against England at the MCG among other things , 46 is just too young to lose these guys
Rest Gently Roy you were quite different to other players

Absolutely tragic. Loved this bloke’s understanding of cricket in the commentary box.

Very sad news. On the field, the way he played the game spoke for itself. Off the field in the commentary box came across as down to earth, humble and very insightful. Simply tragic and at 46 leaves much much too young.

What a horrible way to wake up on a Sunday morning. To hear the news of the passing of another Aussie cricket legend.
Sadly taken from us far to young. In a motor vehicle accident,on a country road.
Roy was a wonderful cricketer. And an excellent commentator of the Big Bash.
Played 26 Tests. 1462 runs at 40.41.Two test 100's and 10 test 50's
Played 198 Odi matches.5088 runs @39.75 with 6 centurys and 30 ODI 50's.
Bowling 24 test wickets and 133 ODI wickets
Andrew was born in 1975 in Birmingham UK.As a baby Andrew was adopted by the Symonds faimly.Andrews biological mother was from the Caribbean and father was Danish.
When Andrew was a kid.The Symonds family moved from Birmingham to North Queensland. And that was the start of his Aussie journey
RIP ROY.

Hard to believe when listening to the news this morning. In a single person vehicle accident running off a road out near Townsville where he lived.

There’s a brilliant interview by Crash Craddick with Roy on Kayo if anyone has it.

Absolutely devastating news.
In an era where sports is becoming increasingly sanitised, Andrew "Roy" Symonds was a genuine character (and a very fine cricketer and analyst).
And so were Shane Warne, Rod Marsh and Dean Jones.
Sadly, cricket has lost a disproportionate number of its "lovable rogues" in the past 20 months.

Arcihe agree mate we are losing to many good cricketers way to young.

The heaven 11 has just added another fantastic player.

His understanding of the game when in the commentary box was amazing
