Seeing as its going to be a forgone conclusion soon how do people see our footy season panning out locally when someone from a WAFL team or any local footy team get a positive covid test? Will all quarantine rules stay and a team is pulled for 1 possibly 2 matches or are we going to be allowed to play regardless? If we are just going to open everything up do we finally just live our lives and keep playing or is sport going to be shut down?

That's a very good question Viper. Given the AMA, unions, employer groups, school principals and others are waiting for guidance from McClown on what happens next and what constitutes a close contact, I don't think we'll get any clarity any time soon.

Sadly I think it's inevitable that the WAFL season will either be cancelled once the virus hits some or all of the clubs, or at best another drastically reduced "lightning carnival" fiasco like we had in 2020.

While the AFL teams can be held in iso bubbles, that's not possible for the WAFL as the players still have to work for a living. Once a player has tested positive the whole training, coaching and support groups will be deemed close contacts and will be out of action for up to 14 days. Cant see that McGoo will allow anyone to work in or play community footy if infected or a close contact.

They have sold us the jab on life will return to normal. Covid won’t touch 99.9999% of WAFL footballers.

If someone in the team test positive stay home for a week. The rest of the team plays on.
Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!

A look around the world would suggest that even local leagues will play on, for the worse case scenario will ressies games are either not played or with less players so that league games can go ahead.

I would think that even the WAFC and WAFL know that very few clubs could survive another covid season without the federal handout process. Smart clubs will looking at local ammo's for top up players, not their top notchers but ones to fill in the reserves.
We live in a time where intelligent people are being silenced so stupid people won't be offended

You would think they could ISO and not get it but if the big bash has shown us anything its that bubbles aren't going to work. If 20 players and support staff can't avoid it how will 70 players and support staff be able to do it in a bubble. They got away with it last time as it wasn't really big in the community. Every state is in the shit just about bar us.

I can see another season cancelled too. Every other state has just about reached the top of the bell curve and will begin to plateau and come down soon whereas we have hardly even started yet. We should see large infection rates when winter gets here to make matters even worse. Interesting article on WA Today by Gareth Parker who is in Florida seeing wife's family. He says over there, the state governor has left it up to the individual to decide on whether to get vaccinated, wear masks, practice social distancing and so on. He reckons the locals couldn't be happier and don't worry about infection rates as they couldn't give a shit. He likens leaving WA to breaking out of prison. Interesting stuff.

No the governor there is doing terriffic, thats why with his states  record delta infection and covid death rates,he earnt the nickname Ron DeathSantis, and the dickhead mini Trump wannabee threatened teachers who imposed school mask mandates, with budget cut restrictions,in a state where child ICU hospitalizations had gone through the roof.
