I think if it’s the players causing unneeded delays, then spot on Grump.
I didn't time every bounce after a goal was scored, but I did time a few.  Many times from the moment the field umpire had the ball to when he bounced it exceeded 30 seconds.  There seemed to be no discernible reason for the delays.  One of the quarters was around 38 minutes long.
It seems that the umpires are taking quite a long time to bounce the ball once they have managed to get it back to the middle after goals. Checking that the teams are 6 6 6 has been used as a possible theory for explaining the delay.
We have some serious problems if it takes 30 seconds to count to 6 twice.
