Tiger tales is spot on.

They have no hope of winning this,

The leader is crap, Nalder is the wings, but wont wear this defeat. Find someone new for 2025.

Get some funding and planning for 2025 as this one is a write off, and they may well lose seats making it even harder. .

Realistically I think that the Libs need to focus on saving the furniture for a tilt in 2025 when they will more than likely have someone like Zac Kirkup in charge. Their plan should be to present an alternative economic blueprint post covid. Also even though McGowan is busting the scales of popularity at the moment there is a danger that he could become so arrogant that he might disappear up his own arse like Emperor Barnett did towards the end of his term. The Libs might be able to gain some traction on this as West Aussies like someone with confidence and who stands up for WA but quickly go cold on them if they get too full of themselves like Uncle Colin discovered

I've read on here many times that people considered Barnett was arrogant towards the end of his premiership but I disagree. I think he was tired when you consider the amount of time he was in politics dealing with the likes of Buswell and just out of favour. But when you look at what he achieved in his 8 years leading the state he really was very good. Things like Optus Stadium, Elizabeth Quay, Midland Health Campus, the Gateway project, Forrestfield airport rail link, native title breakthroughs, Perth Children’s Hospital and the new museum really have left a terrific legacy for him and his government. The current Libs need someone with presence and vision otherwise they'll be in opposition for a very long time imo.

Absolutely spot on BC, tbh its a list of achievements unparalleled and in all honesty McGowan has benefited from them.

Barnett is a polarising figure and whether he was tired or arrogant he did some really great stuff that the successive government did benefit from but they also inherited a fair bit of chaos and crap but wemove on.

The isse for the Libs and Miss Simpson is that they are once again rolling out policies that have bee rolled out for the past 20 years - Shopping hours.

They really need to stop going to the playbook of the Courts and others and look for new issues that either at odds with the left or are wrinkles on left policy.

The shop hours really is a sad issue and they will not in my mind win many votes with that type of strategy.

Yep spot on, if opening Coles at 8am rather then 11am on Sunday is the best Harvey can come up with then she needs a re think.

Who is Miss Simpson? You channeling the Simpsons? I don't see the likeness but Mike Nahan's Ned Flanders likeness was a beauty and well spotted whoever came up with that one.

Harvey is probably a very competent politician for her electorate and her party, but as a leader she is impotent and they are taking a knife to a gunfight, bloodbath.

Not sure who else they have instead of Harvey, main thing is to make sure none of the extreme religous right "happy clappers" from some of the norther suburbs branches that they stacked get any leadership roles, but maybe thats the only place for the libs to go as Mcgowan has sensibly taken the middle ground from them so only option is to head right, which wont please too many people and wont win many votes, can see labour increasing their majority, worst case would be to maintain the current majority. i think it will take at least 2 more elections for the Libs to get back any sort ground while McGowans there unless arrogance gets the better of him.

I don't reckon they will be getting Christian Porter back.

SS it was interesting to see the new senator from Bunbury had to beat the christian (as in religion lobby not the bra snapping type) to get the Guernsey.
