12.23 to 8.8.....are the SD fans happy with that final score line?....taking an alternative view, were SD a bees dick away from a hiding?.....or just lucky Cl....I mean Subi, simply didn't have their kicking boots on......on paper 35 scoring shots to 16 sounds awfully like a one sided game with the traffic definitely heading one way.....the wrong way....

Didn't feel like a flogging watching the game Freezin although Subiaco were obviously the superior side. Number of possessions were nearly the same so Swans were getting their hands on the ball, but Subiaco were far more efficient by hand and foot and had 25 more inside 50s which sometimes doesn't translate on the scoreboard as Claremont found out last week. Swans defence did a great job for all but 15 minutes in the 3rd quarter so I would say many of the 23 points would have come from pressure on the Subi player with the ball or rushed behinds. I recall a few sodas that they missed from set shots. The other side of the coin was that Blights loss meant that Harding had less options during the game because he had to shift Notte into the backline and Cary in the ruck when we were being beaten there, so this took away from our capacity to kick goals.

The pressure was definitely there, you don't kick 23 behinds with just clangas. Swans match up on Subi very well, we saw it in the wet last year.

Ball use and decision making have been an issue all year but even when we get both right going forward someone drops a sitter and or misses a simple shot on goal when they were under less pressure than they actually perceived.

Mike & MO from experience the $ubi troll will only appear on our thread as seen on both Footygoss (after they had trolled the poor WP posters into oblivion) & now Ozfooty when we are losing (although he has even moved onto Swans & Lost WAFL public Facebook pages) as evidenced when he went missing in action on the SD vs C topic from last week!

Jesus grow up and get over it, I tried to get back to footy talk but you seem to have a serious chip on your shoulder.

SDFC do have some fantastic defenders, thus Subi's forwards missing the target as much as they did....just 35 scoring shots to 16 does suggest Subi were the dominant side.....pity SD forwards aren't as good as their defenders.....though as folk have said Davis is badly missed.....more so than Broad?

Some of our fowards are just as good as any in the comp. It's our midfield that is woeful! Undersized, slow and not pretty by foot. It is what it is at the moment, just got to suck it up.

In all honesty freeze would love to have both back but unfortunately when our boys get drafted they usually have long careers in the AFL unlike some other clubs who get the 35k fee and then the same player back in a year or 2! :pinch:

Nuich was a big loss for us this week too. He has good skills and gives Swans a bit more versatility in the midfield during games. Blight is above average as far as his disposal goes and we lost him early which didn't help

I agree Mad Dog, a forward line of Notte, Cary, Rogers, Jukes and Elari is a pretty decent group. Often the mids delivery into the forward 50 is the problem as evidenced yesterday in the 1st quarter. Also doesn't help when Notte and Cary have to fill other gaps like what happened in the 3rd quarter
