SD there are two components at play with Faulkner. Absolutely no-one, including myself, should question his ability to do the hard work and get the ball. However, and it is a big however, how confident is anyone that in disposing of the ball how effective will it be? Unfortunately, from my perspective I haven't seen any discernible improvement in his disposal of the ball in recent games.

Faulky just needs to keep working hard and long on his kicking as his in and under hard congested work is very valuable to support Bluey, Riggs and co inside, it can be done as seen from Dene White from Perth he is a player who has gone to another level with a vast improvement on his kicking.

not only big bodies mate but according to a few learned footy scribes around town "the best midfield outside the AFL" and their numbers were all good yesterday especially J-Mac, Anthony & Eardley.

East Freo probably played through the middle more with more run and the Swans defence did well to limit a lot of those attacks, Young took some good marks and young Perry looks a top prospect.
Swans skill level was poor again, 5-6 goals conceded from skill errors coming out of the backline and bad passing through the middle.
effort was great again but we have no forward targets, Cary spent his forward time running around the wing and did better in defence.
Houghton provided great run after half time but he was too was up the ground and we wont beat top sides bombing in to Jukes, Donovan and Banfield who all played well but cant be the main targets.
not sold on Burham or Coniglio, not sure why they play.
best was Jukes and his marking was superb, Elari tried his heart out as normal and the backs worked hard again.
thought Blakley should have been in the best, another who works hard in every contest.
reserves showed some great talent - Dylan Nelson and Wilson are 2 who should be in the league team and big Ansey can play at either end.
Turner off half back is improving, hopefully they all work hard over the next pre-season and become regular players next year as we need some skill in the team.

At the moment I think that due to Faulkner's inability to hit a target on most occasions, by hand or foot, he should go back to the ressies where he can perhaps show better disposal skills. Rudy Riddoch should be due for a recall into the league team based on his last couple of performances in the resizes.

As an outsider looking in, i would not be dropping Faulkner, he was one of your best for the 1st three qtrs, he needs to get it and feed off to Riggio, Davis & Co. Yes his disposal is a tad off but he gets his hands on it more often than not.

Perhaps give Rudy Riddoch the opportunity to see what he can do? As I have said I am not questioning Faulkner's commitment to getting the hard ball in and under. However, I don't believe that there has been any measurable improvement in his use of the ball. So under those circumstances you accept his somewhat errant use of the ball or you get him to go back to the ressies and work on his disposal. I am by no means suggesting that he should be banished to the ressies for the term of his natural life; rather see whether he will work on his disposal and hopefully see the improvement.

A challenge to you BH since I know that you think Rudy Riddoch amongst others should be in our league team: who should come into our league team for this week end and who do they replace?

Rudy should be in every week but he can't replace Faulkner, one is an in and under mid the other a forward.
Coniglio and Burnham should be out before anyone else and get some class in there - Wilson Nelson and Rudy are all options before those 2

You know my thoughts on the best 22 no need to discuss on here, we will just let our number 1 closet supporter freeze have his say on selection not that he needs any prompting!! ;)
