We don't just have 4-5 to only choose from (from over east) like yourself. :cheer: Lucky Ames has hung around or else you wouldn't have any locals in contention. Maybe Hams?? No try Hilderbrandt?? No again, Elari, Rogers, Riggio??? Nup nup nup. Wouldn't go to Casserly he has his own issues to worry about.

true, you only have eastern staters left.

How far do you want to go back? Souths 1970 and 1980 premiership captains = both Victorians....Go through your lists, just as many locals and non locals playing for you as there is us

MarkOlsen, you would have to be a simple man if you didn't think I knew who my captain was.

Swandog, lets go back to 1885 shall we? What's your point? Noel Carter wasn't a Victorian either, came from Tasmania if i recall.

The point which has been again glossed over here is that from a bunch of possible captains you would hope that at least 3/4 of them are home grown products wouldn't you?

I guess it's just the way things have gone.

Tallan Ames for sure. Co- captain last year, veteran player, vocal on- field leader, and most importantly... a true Basso Boy from way back, went to primary school a few hundred metres away from Steel Blue Oval and his folks' house is a few blocks away. I think that should satisfy all the criteria that other clubs supporters have set out for out next captain. :P Can't get much more local product than that, or *can* you?
That ending only made the bad years' seem as if they never even happened...
