Back to this season, if Garlett, Cameron and Lobb get drafted, that means good $$$ for the club and more opportunities for some youngsters, the reserves played some good footy this season. Young players got some good games under their belt, while finishing 4th. This is a credit to Harding and his coaching group.

I suspect we will lose about 10-12 players due to retirements, draft etc.

Who are you thinking on the retirements Swan 42?

Hopefully not all of those listed below will be not at the club in 2014; but here is the list.

Drafted:

Garlett, Cameron, Lobb, Notte, Howard

Retirements:

Roach, Geappen, Simpson, Hildebrandt, Jetta, Newman

Movements to the devils incarnate:

Neale, Bennell, Walters, Pearce, Naitanui

Sundry:

Twomey, Blight, Casserley

Simmo definitely wont be retiring 42 & Swoop, Jetts & *Muzz* hopefully will go on. Twomey, Blight & Cass are required players.

BH as I said I am hoping that only some of those listed above won't be at the club next year. The players listed are possible losses, in my opinion, for the 2014 season. Certainly I hope the vast majority of them will be in black and white and playing their home games at Basso next season.

Do you guys really think Notte is a draft chance this year?

Interested to read someone said some young players got some good games into them this season.....aren't these young players the one listed as possible draftees/rookies next year in Garlett, Howard, Cameron and Lobb?......

Out of the next wave of SD youngsters, who do you boys feel will be the next Lobbs, Camerons etc.....

Tony Notte should get a look in, he takes more specie grabs than any other player in the WAFL, is one of the most versatile, cool under pressure and deceptive across the ground, a natural footballer something the AFL clubs will probably overlook as theyt are generally obsessed with athletes
Beneath the Southern cross i stand, on Bassendean Oval, can in hand, Swan Districts, you Farkin Beauty!

Freezin I think you will find that what we said was that we gave some opportunities to som eof our colts to play ressies to see how they coped playing against men rather than against their own age group. As a consequence we then had the opportunities to play some younger players (16 year olds) in the colts. This was the primary reason that the colts had some bad losses in the second half of the year. It was all about fast tracking their development to get them ready for next season.

42, didn't see the word reserves mate so thus my post.....not too good at reading between the lines and spinning sentences ;) , but do understand what you are saying.....SF did it well this year with young colts Blaine Johnson winning the reserves GF medal with his 5 goals on sunday.....

All clubs are playing under age guys more and more now.....probably will need to now even more so, with no AFL guys blocking league/reserves spots irrespective of their form.....especially EF, which for me, is an exciting development to look forward to.

Always interesting to look back over past budgets and see which players stayed and went on with the footy and those who simply disappeared....

Young Jacob Coniglio was polling very well in the Jack Clarke Medal in the Colts as well until he was promoted to the Reserves for his development for the last 10 or 12 games of the season!

Freezin I think you will find for the first half of the season our colts' team were reasonably competitive. It onnly changed on the back of the host club alignment anouncement and Swans' need to fast track some of our younger players for next season.
