A couple of weeks back I looked at this fixture as a possible win for Swans but the way we are playing at the moment I can't see any way we can beat Subi. We have lost our only key forward and now Pasini with an ACL, added to the list of Ireland, Collins, Cipro etc. Injuries are no excuse though, its the style of footy that is so hard to watch and is not getting results.
The players are not enjoying what they are doing. I was watching their body language last week and they were walking around with hunched shoulders once East Fremantle started getting on top.
Maybe the introduction of a few young guys from the unbeaten reserves team might inject some much needed enthusiasm into the group.

Will wait to see the final 22 but at this stage young guys Otis Harvey and Luke Cottellessa both named on the bench. Also Brad Lynch has been dropped, he really has been struggling this season so may get some form back in the ressies. In Kohlmanns absence looks like we will be going with a small forward line which may be Ok given that Subiaco don't have a lot of height in their defence. Concerned about Doc and Yukich playing together if thats how it turns out. Gives us a "lumbering look"

Obviously we will take the win, but unsure what to make of that for the rest of the season. The move of Bright and O'Donohue into the forward line worked well and Clarke's form back to his best, but I will be interested in Subi supporter's opinions on their thread about their team's performance.

Twice during the game SD players kicked goals only to be helped off shortly after suffering leg injuries. Trew's looked serious.

Hard to know what to make of that, delighted with the win of course. After an even contested first quarter, Subiaco completely fell away for whatever reason and Swans dominated the last 3 quarters.

It appeared that the coaches tore up the game plan that hadnt been working and adopted a more running game, using the strengths of the team, with a flexible forward line, 13 goal kickers would you believe!. This worked well partially because Subis backline were undersize so not many intercept marks. But I think it is a model to work on. As the game went on you could see the players gradually getting their confidence back and it looked like they were enjoying their footy, these are traits that have been sadly lacking in the first 5 games. When Kohlmann comes back they will need to think about how he fits into this structure rather than him just being the sole target in the forward 50, makes it too easy for the opposition.

Great debut by young Harvey. He should be a regular for the rest of the season, especially as it looks like we have lost Trew for a while , hopefully Pina's injury was only a cramp.

The team needs to enjoy this win but also keep it in perspective. They are still 1-5 and their chances of getting back into finals calculations are slim, but if they can reproduce performances like this on a consistent basis you just never know
