Ins: M. Bain, M. Chipper, M. Germs, R. Hardeman, W. Reidy, T. Watson

Outs: S. Fisher, J. O'Donohue

Fisher is a big loss, joins Aiden Clarke on the sidelines. Germs,Chipper and Reidy have also been named in the reserves so they will be emergencies.

A must win game for Swans, not many teams would recover from 0-4 in an 18 match season to make the finals. Time to turn around their appalling recent record at this ground. Swans have lost their last 9 at Fremantle Oval albeit the last defeat was by 1 point, so you could say they are getting closer!

I vividly remember their last win at Freo which was in Harding's time (2014).
On this day South played us off the park for the first 3 quarters but kicked abysmally. Their score at 3 quarter time was 6 - 15 - 51 to Swans 3 -1 -19. They should have been 12 goals in front on the run of play with 21 scoring shots to 4.

Swans completely took control in the last quarter when they realised that they were still in the game and kicked 6 - 1 to zero in the final term to snatch the win by 5 points. It was one of the biggest steals I have ever seen in a footy match. Maybe Swans have been paying for that victory ever since!

Great effort to get the result down at the Port.
Looking at the stats ,Souths had a lot more footy.7 of the 10 top possession.Players ,on the ground.
Swans skills must of been on today.Moving the ball straighter down the ground.

First Swans deserved the four points and I say they really should have won by more - South were bloody horrible skills-wise and had some players hardly sighted and so the John Todd cup will sit at Bassendean Oval for a while
umpires did not affect this result even though some decisions were baffling for both sides
anyway well done Swan Districts

Worthy the entry fee to see Collins in the last quarter storm out of defence cleaning up one south's player on the way and kick long into the forward line. Well done Swans.

Much needed win for the boys, didn't make it so unable to comment in detail. Good to see Palmer kicked some goals and they seemed to be in control for most of the day.  Also great to see that Tony Notte got through another ressies game with 17 possessions, so he would be in line for selection next week.
Congrats to Brayden Noble on his 100th game and his first victory at Fremantle Oval. They need to enjoy this win then focus on followng it up in Mandurah next weekend.

SD could so easily be undefeated, just think they matched up well v SF. What's the deal with Anderson? Also when did Notte do his knee? Surely after Boekhorst?...amazing recovery powers.

Notte did his knee at the WACA in August Freezin. I think he must have had one of those LARS operations rather than the full reconstruction which was probably a good option given his age. Anderson is a bit of a mystery in that I heard around the traps that the Swans medical staff had cleared him to play but he may have picked up another injury unrelated to the knee. We probably won't get Clarke or Fisher back for a few weeks as they both have hamstring injuries.

Anderson had a hammy injury I thought ?
Anderson, Fisher, Cipro, Clarke all injured and O’Donoghue suspended.
Too many good players out unfortunately and lost early games so only fighting for 5th at best.
Great first quarter and jumped South, Curley went off in the box and quarter time and South lifted after that.
Swans battled hard and deserved the win, Turner ran hard all day, Watson excellent and Jones and Palmer marked well. Erceg and Stephens solid as always and Bright a great job on Donaldson
South would have had a few out also so will no doubt bounce back
