Can't wait for the start of the season. Nothing better than a game between Swans and the Royals to get the adrenaline going.
No idea how this one will play out. Pre- season form is irrelevant as always. East Perth have some very good ins, Crowden, North and Tedesco amongst them so my guess is that they will be a lot stronger this year. I notice that Nelson Waite has returned to the Royals as well, not sure if he will crack a place in their best 22.
Swans have recruited McLachlan from Geelong in the VFL but I didnt see him in the scratch match that I attended ( Subiaco), Anderson and Blakely are back as well as Glass- Mccasker and Cameron so I think we are going to be competitive this season injuries permitting.
Last years Good Friday game was a real see- saw contest that East Perth won narrowly and I have a feeling this week might be the same.
Swans only won 1 match away from home last year and that was the reason they missed finals. A victory at Leederville in round 1 would be a good first step in turning this around.

What better way to start the season, 3 games that will show where both teams are, 2 new coaches and some significant ins (and outs) for both clubs.

I would always hope you are a strong side but just a little less than us, good luck on Friday and for the season.

Weather forecast for the season bouncedown (oops, should be the big throw up) is said to be mainly fine with just a slight chance of rainfall and a 25⁰ maximum temperature.

Mystified by this team selection and am going along hopeful more than confident.

How Bayok is given yet another chance is beyond belief, the bloke just ain’t up to League footy. Somehow he keeps Chipper out of the sideman’s even Hewitt, Ugle, Cartwright and Reidy should be given an opportunity - these kids won’t hang around on a promise.

Then we have Germs in the 2’s and and underdone and undersized Glass-Mckasker leading the ruck, I assume, with Noble or Ireland to back him up.

If we are to make finals then this game sets the tone for the year in my opinion. Hope we don’t get ambushed.

Yes I can't understand why Germs is not in the team, especially as Scott Jones monstered us in the corresponding game last year so you would think that we would need more rather than less big man strength.

I am also wondering what is the situation with McLachlan the new recruit from Geelong who has not been named in league or reserves and to my knowledge didn't play in any of the pre season games, Injury problems perhaps? Also no Frank Anderson in either grade so maybe he has had a setback in his recovery from the ACL. If anyone closer to the club than me can shed any light on this, I would appreciate it.

Bayok the greatest player to have come out of Ellenbrook. We certainly have better players that deserve the opportunity.

Mike, Anderson is working FIFO and bewilderingly Swans have agreed to play him every 2nd week on his swing. When you have Notte commuting from Busso and now Anderson on/off it can not be good for the morale of the other players on the cusp, not a good move by Swans for mine !

Notte could commute from England each week and he would still be an elite WAFL player.

Pamper this up any way you want fellow Ducks but we lost this game at the selection table and the change of coach has made no change to the messaging to this group.

As I suspected we were completely dominated by a genuine ruck. I thought Bayok would play wing and be a liability, nah, let’s play him at half back and throw the back line into complete chaos. Should not play another league game!!!

Ireland back? Cmon, he’s as competitive as a wet leaf in my salad.

Sam Fisher is allowed to run around by himself all day, because, he’s Sam Fisher.

We lost this game at selection and then we lost it because we have a reserves coach coaching the League team.

Of you are ok with today then be prepared to expect the same shit as last year. We aren’t playing finals and we will be happy with being the underdog who is competitive, fuck that.
