Time to move on and forward to this week after having our butts kicked by EF at the WACA.
EF well and truly outplayed us in almost every position on the ground and were pretty much allowed to do as they pleased to a Swans side that quite obviously did not turn up for a contest, even with their season on the line.
I cant see this week being much better up against WP who we havent beaten this decade and who are motoring along on top and looking like the side to beat for this years flag.
They have a very experienced side for a WAFL team in this era with more than a dozen having played over 100 WAFL games and only 2 of their players that thrashed EP on the weekend having played less than 36 games (2 full seasons of WAFL) in Kernutt (18 games) and former Swan Hinder (4 games).
For Swans after such an insipid effort against EF you would expect some changes at the selection table but with Tony going down unfortunately he will be one to miss.
After barely winning a clearance against EF our mids will be once again put to the test by WP's experienced group lead by Black, Nelson, Pierce, Hutchings, Lynch & co.
Lets hope Swans actually turn up this week and with an attitude of making this game a genuine contest!

Yes B.H. they've got over a dozen players with a 100 games experience,and they monstered a side that had about a dozen players with under 20 games experience,a point obviously not noted by the clueless E.P. board who wanted to make the coach the scapegoat.

They have done quite well WP, having as it does, certainly a side worth more than four cents. On another topic, there is some good matertal relating to SD on the website 'lost WAFL' -- its from the early eighties.

Great win to beat the top of the table Cardies.Some tied boys from both teams out there.

Headed in early to catch the 80s legends pre-game panel chat. I had Jnr with me and the league coach kindly went out of his way to help us navigate the club elevator to get upstairs. I turned to my young fella as the elevator door was shut behind  us, looked Jnr dead in the eyes and declared ‘we are going to win today’. A random act of kindness that the karma gods did not ignore !!! 
Fantastic win today Swannies after WP were all over us early, gutsy stuff ….and how good did we look in those retro  jumpers !!!!  



 

Probably our best win of the season given the circumstances. The pressure of keeping the season alive, playing the top team who had a massive advantage in experience and without our best defender. Great captains game from Erceg. This team has tons of character given their response to the defeat by East Fremantle last week.
Now on to Mandurah next week to see if we can sew up a finals spot.

Just looked it up Ark and fantastic to see the great JT still keeping well and urging the Swans on. Well done Swans that was a strong response..

very good win by Swan Districts that keeps a heap of pressure on the AFL alignment and the finals well and truly alive with other results

I rated you a good side even after we narrowly beat you earlier in the season,,and noted your very solid goal to goal line and your key back Erceg was outstanding today.You've got a mountain to climb next week but you definitely deserve to play finals.
