Great game of footy, we gave it our all and that’s all we could ask as supporters, WP’s kicking for goal under pressure the difference.
Losing Gault in the back half of the season took away the momentum we gained from that win against Subi when the 2 rucks really changed the side around.
Well done to Howie and Riggs, 2 heart and soul players and very talented also.
Jetta likely to retire, injuries.
Notte wants to play on just has to work it out with new job down south and now has a kid so that may change things.
Money and points available so 2 recruits lined up already apparently tho Anderson getting hurt stuffs things up for next year, looks like 12 months off for him

So close but so far.  Swans can stand tall after such a courageous and brave effort.
Hope Frank's knee injury is not too bad. 
Well done to all the players and coach.

MO I know that Pickers was down watching EP and when asked why he just responded that he was looking who he could pinch. Given that SD have picked some good and not so worthwhile players of late I suspect that a few more might drive down Guildford road especially when we still know what is the go next year. 

Great season and you still have colts who have been the best team all year, good luck with them.
 

Firstly what a great game of WAFL footy that was (as was the SF vs CL QF) yesterday despite the close loss.
Both WAFL finals absolutely shat all over the afl equivalents on the same weekend for contests.
A good start to take a couple of goal lead in the 1st 2 qtrs but you felt we might have left some goals out there whilst WP couldnt miss with their inside 50 entries and made the most of them to hang in there.
You knew that would come back to bite us and the inevitable WP comeback eventuated in the 3rd qtr and early into the last qtr to take a 3 goal lead before we regained the momentum to again take back the lead and the ascendancy before the untimely and devastating knee injury to Frank stopped us in its tracks and gave WP enough time and breath to regain the lead late.
God knows how many times we have been run over by WP late in games in the last 10 years but would be nearly the same amount and has to be addressed as it has become all too predictable!
As for the "whinger" enquiring where our 10 point players where- one was close to our best player and nearly bog before his untimely knee injury, another kicked 4 goals up forward, another picked up another 20+ disposals on top of his Sandover last year and WA appearance this season whilst the other kept Keitel under wraps for the best part of the match before he had a late burst in the last qtr......luckily for you your imported forward line of Knott (ex CL), Keitel (ex EP), Riddoch (ex SD) were able to get the job done for them or it could have been a different result!
Lastly congrats to Matt Riggio & Alex Howard on fine careers at SD. Riggs is a Premiership player, 2 x Swan Medallist, State player and Howie a dependable backman who could play on talls and smalls and we thank them for giving their all for the Black Ducks. Hopefully Tony & Lewis play on but at this stage I believe they havent formally made a decision either way.

Alex retires on 174 games for Swan Districts. He played 95 in a row leading up to round 12 this year before missing a game,

Howie played 174 games mate.
He has been really struggling with a hip issue for the last couple of years which has forced his early retirement at 28.
Not sure if he will play on at a lower level next season?
