Even though the new players have acquitted themselves well over the past few weeks, it is important for Swans to regain experienced guys like Gault and Jetta after the bye. If Swans can get this experience back, it will give them more chance of being competitive in a finals match. A victory over either Souths or Claremont in the last two rounds would also generate a bit of belief amongst the group.

Given the seriousness of concussion, that I believe Gault may have had previous problems with bouts of concussion and the time he has been out it may not be a certainty that we will have Gault for the rest of the season.

swan42, I was told a couple of weeks ago that they were holding Gault back till the game against South Fremantle. Hope this is the case as we need another tall against their giants.

I hope you are right because Gault is a quality player.  Of course, a player's health should always be the number one priority.

Was a great day at Basso on Saturday, the weather finally turned it on, good crowd and great atmosphere.
Kudos to the club for putting on the retro day for the 60 year anniversary of the 1961 Premiership, the dress ups, the old buses, the 1960s music playing all day with the Beach Boys "Good Vibrations" playing after every Swans goal was fantastic, a very enjoyable day out for all.

On to the footy side of things now,  once again we started well against the Royals with 6 goals on the board in the 1st qtr. For the next 2 qtrs it was a bit of an arm wrestle with EP fighting back and Swans squandering many chances going forward. The last qtr after 2 quick goals to EP to bring the margin under 3 goals it looked like game on but we steadied again by going long and direct out of the middle through Clarke, Cipro, Anderson & Turner and goals were once again able to be scored and put the result beyond doubt. If only we played more of that 1st & last qtr footy every week we could actually trouble the well established Top 4 of SU, WP, SF & CL.

And last but not least good to see the prodigal son 42 make a cameo appearance back at the WAFL after a lengthy hiatus. Hopefully you enjoyed your day back in the McDonald Stand 42?

BH...maybe they should rename it "The Swan42 Stand" in honour of his gracing the place with his presence. ;-)

I think the current name for the Macca Stand is appropriate and as flattering as it would be for me to have a stand named after me at Basso, I can't support the renaming of the stand BC.

Well done to the club for the celebrations of the 1961 flag. Disappointing that East Perth refused to participate but that's their prerogative.

mike, you have to remember that it was East Perth you beat in that Grand Final 60 years ago, so it wouldn't have been too surprising that they weren't in any mood to help you celebrate a long ago victory against them..

Even less after the terrible game they had just played. Well done to the ducks.

In fairness I saw most EP players and coaches did come up stairs to the members bar for a drink after the game, which was good to see.

Did any one see what on earth Riggs was reported for?
Will no doubt get time as all SD players seem to do whilst most other club's players would get a reprimand for murder!
