Beaten by 3 inside 50 and lose by 40. Won last week inside 50 by 10 and lose by 30. Again the swans are doing a lot right and I’m really happy with the effort. Skills need a tidy up as most scores are coming from klangers from the kids. Once they come to terms with the tempo we will be a force. Fisher is an AFL player.

What kids are you talking about that are miraculously going to start being able to kick a drop punt 30 metres to a team mate which should have been something identified in colts.
Our skills are disgraceful and I have no idea why the coach picks blokes who can’t kick each week, it’s like giving 100 games to Adam Faulkner and thinking his kicking would improve

Grainger Barrass won’t be there, he will be drafted surely you know that.
Watson and Bright can’t kick, couldnt in colts so not sure why it’s going to improve, can’t knock their effort but not up to it.
Reidy thinks he’s Dustin Martin kicking around corners, doesn’t learn from 2 weeks ago.
We never improve cos the club thinks league football is for development, identify skilled footballers and play them, they are the ones we should be pumping games into

That is a subject that was spoken about quite some time ago. Nowadays the Wafl is simply a play thing of big business. Sad to say...

When does Zorba take over? Georgie boy looked in good nick, has recovered well from the pre season hammy. What happened to Warrick Wilson? He caught my eye last year. Not playing WAFL this year?
Get on your bike.
It was Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve.

There were some positives today even though Swans were never really in the game. You could not fault the endeavour of the team. They gave it their best shot but they were not in the same league as Subiaco in terms of their skills and structure. I thought our midfield more than held their own in terms of possessions and clearances and our inside 50's were very respectable for a team that was beaten by 7 goals. Its the same story every week though, poor disposal and decision making that puts team mates under pressure. We set up some really good running football which caught Subiaco out the back on several occasions only to stuff it up with a poor kick or handball which undid all the good work. Subiaco probably didn't make us pay fully for the turnovers as they were at times uncharacteristically shoddy and wasteful with their disposals.

Anderson and Fisher are obviously class footballers and have become the prime guys in the midfield. Jesse Turner put in another great effort, Corey Gault dominated the ruck and played well around the ground, Grainger- Barass is a top notch player , Erceg performed well in defence and Bayok from East Perth showed a bit I thought. Our veterans Notte and Riggio had quiet days.

Although I was encouraged by some of the aspects of this effort, we have to keep in perspective that Subiaco had a lot of their first choice players out and are obviously not playing at their best at the moment. There is still a chasm between the two clubs and we have a long way to go before even thinking about competing with them. However if Swans can continue to bring the same intensity that they showed today to later games against lesser opposition, we may be able to win a few matches and avoid the wooden spoon.

Just copy and paste the write ups from the first 2 games and just insert the different opponents name in each week fellas and wrap up is done as nothing ever changes at SD.

Another boring day of WAFL footy for those who like to see scoring with our third pitiful goal tally in 3 games- 6, 7, 6. That is 19 goals in 3 games ffs 40 years ago we used to kick that in a half quite regularly now struggle to match it in 3 full games. Is it possible for Ric to bring the virtual League back as it was far more interesting than the current live version?!

Yes to have similar inside 50's but only have 10 scoring shots to our 24 tells me you guys missed a trick yesterday. We aren't a tall side especially in defence and with Lockyer missing it meant our tallest player down back was Aaron Heal at 189cms. Why someone like Notte and/or Blakely weren't playing permanently forward to stretch us on height and provide a hit up target is a mystery. You've got some talent to work with though and was very impressed with Grainger-Barrass.

Swans tried the use the width of the field with run and spread.Switching play across the center of the ground. But Subi congested the flank areas and stop swans movement. They did look good when they could get into the open fwd line with George Hampson looking good up there.
The shortened qtrs probably saved swans from a hiding today.ConnorB looks like he's got a lower back injury Tony N also looks like he's injured Down on big men and mids that can run with the footy..Long season in this short season..
Just an observation on Subi.Only there second game in August.Did cough up the footy a few times. And heard some of there players sledging each other. On the outer bank.Played well but the players on field must think they can play better than they did today.

GTR did you mean Doc? Connor Blakely is his brother.

BC we always have good kids come through like Grainger-Barrass but they get drafted and spend 10+ years in the vfl and we dont get any real benefit of it for the SDFC in the WAFL aside from a few games when they are 17/18!
We will probably lose another 3-4 again this year including DGB and have to start all over again in putting a side together, it is a never ending cycle!
