Well unfortunately if Hagdorn said it would then rule them both out, however they would both be good candidates. Really does make you wonder who the candidates were when Wiley got the job.

There’s some quality names being bandied around now. If the chat is on the money, hope the board don’t blow it and pick a Dunbar or one of their local favourites.

I would imagine that at least one of them would want or need it as a full time gig, money is then an issue.

58shark & all shark posters
it is not the board that are on the selection/interview process(perhaps a couple of them) & we all hope of course they choose the right one to coach the club
i am sure it would NOT be their intention to choose a dud but do you have a crystal ball...crikey I thought appointing wiley was a god send....didnt most of us?

so if you were on the selection committee who would you go for? an assistant afl coach, ex retired afl player, someone out of another state league, local favourite or an unknown....how do you know if they will succeed????

lets stick together & support one another & the decisions that are made & hope they are the right ones

No, I certainly did not think the appointment of Wiley was a god send. A god send! I would think that most didn't, however that's up to them.
And are the board part of the selection process? Or perhaps just a couple of them? Or none? Be helpful for mine if you would let me know as you have stated its not the board. You must be in the know then?

The board are certainly represented on the selection panel:

Mark Stewart
Michael Brennan
John Ipsen

Plus Todd Shimmon (CEO).

The same board that extended the Wiley contract and have botched up most things over the past few years.

I hope they go for more of a development coach if they can't get Monaghan. McPhee would be good. Pass on Waterman and Woewodin. Sumich I'm on the fence on.
