According to 6 Peeaargh's rumour file Rob Wiley's contract has been extended.

Expect us to go undefeated now Custy......senior players can't run this coach out of town now...

They could take him down the beach and introduce him to the clubs emblem for reeeeal

He could then appreciate what its like to be chewed up and spat out like his players are now feeling....

Oh dear while I won't compare Wiley with McMahon, at least he's played the game at the highest level Wiley's record as a senior coach is not great. This brings back nightmares of Damian McMahon's contract extension after the second year of his 3 year contract.

Is Wiley in the second year of a 3 year contract? Is so why would there be the need to extend?

Surely a long period of saying "Yes Mick, of course Mick, it's everyone else's fault Mick" is a great CV to be a senior coach.

I think its a good move by EF if true. Whatever you think about Wiley as a coach, they have now stopped all the potential speculation and innuendo and given him the green light to rebuild the team with the undoubted young talent that they have. As demonstrated a few years back with Malaxos, it is quite destructive when a club axes a coach mid season particularly if it is player driven.

I'm glad the rumour of him walking isn't true, but why would you extend his contract?!? He was given a 3 year deal and i've seen nothing to suggest it should be extended to 4. It reeks of the higher ups panicking and trying to batten down the hatches by extending it a year. What if the club comes last this year and next?

And the club should've been rebuilding form the start of the 2016 season. In fact, its 2015 season after Malaxos left suggested they were going down that path.

Rumour confirmed Rob Wiley's contract extended to the end of 2019.

don't mind at all with the extension

he brings a game plan and sure it might be an afl one but footy is a simple game if followed and executed rightly...unfortunately our players are not doing either and they are more than capable so when they do we do alright
