So Peel players have left because of the alignment apparently. So what do we blame Souths huge exodus this year.

See the thing is you have two teams - East Perth and Peel - where a fair number of their players would rather be playing elsewhere on a weekend.

If there is any better indication of how desperate some Peel/East Perth local players are to leave, they're even buying themselves out of contracts. Like in the old days when you could buy yourself out of the British Army.

So how many league games did Borrett,Brooks,Boyes play at a struggling perth last year.No better off.Doesn't matter if the Eagles and dockers are at two clubs or at the whole nine clubs somebody will not a game.Just beacause you move to one of the g7 clubs doesn't mean you will get a game.

though Liam McKenna must be grateful of the move....

......hopefully Winton can follow McKenna's lead at Perth and provide EF with some stability up back.....also would like to see what Piggot has ability wise, cut down by injury all last year bar 2 - 3 reserves games, he is similar in height and build to Winton from what the profiles suggest on the WAFL site

Dont want to hijack the topic of the conversation Chaddy22...

In my opinion the SF situation is a combination of players looking for better opportunities and others who are either not up to it or do not have the necessary desire and committment to play at the highest level.

You can add Panizza & Banks to the list of departures. I have counted 21 from last year's squad that I'm aware of - could be more?

Not being a peel person can we assume that a lot of the Peel players are not up to it. Before the alignment how many got games because they had a poor squad. A lot of the names mean nothing to me and I assume very few will be regular players at other clubs.

interesting that one of the players you are talking about played 3 league games at east perth in 2014 and went to the swannies last year and played 2 league games and 20 reserves game. Considering the injury to Josh Smith and Mcinnes he most probably would have played more footy if he stayed put .Nearly all the players who have left East Perth to play with g7 are playing regular reserves footy. They might be desperate to play league footy but they have to have some ability.
