Solid day all round!
Colts won 119 to 55
Reserves won 97 to 32
League 15.7 (97) to Perth 10.7 (67)

Game was a bit of a scramble. Not a lot of clean possessions by either side. Good to see youngster such as Jake Fletcher, Andrew Stokes and Conor Regan have a solid league hit out. Jacob Green appeared to cop a corky early. George Hampson, Rob Young and James Bristow didn't play.

It may have been the very humid conditions but we dropped a lot of easy chest marks and made lots of turnovers. Although to Perth's credit they never gave up! East Freo lead comfortably just before three quarter time but with a couple of late goals before the break and four goals in the first ten minutes in the last quarter took them to within six points. EF then steadied and kicked the last four goals to win by 30 points.

How did Perth look when they were coming back Custodian? Were they able to come back because East Fremantle slacked off or did they for this brief period, start to play some good football.

Perth ran hard after the three quarter time break to attack the ball in numbers and they seemed to have an extra man around the contest during this period. I don't think EF slacked off but were caught unawares by Perth's intensity early in the last before re-asserting their dominance.

good to hear young ruck Jack Fletcher acquitted himself well and Schleicher did some good work to.....any chance Custy these two boys will get a debut next week v EP?.....with McGough out for a few weeks apparently good chance for Schleicher to get some league footy under his belt?.....

....with Hampson, Bristow and Young to come back it will be interesting to see what sort of side Malaxos will put out v EP.....especially with Lee out, Smith out and WCE playing Freo on the weekend and a few injuries to WCE at present.

Anthony is gonna win a lot of the footy I reckon, hopefully he and Dalziell can use more effectively than they did in the AFL.

That's refreshing to hear from a Demons perspective. So all in all it seems like both EF and Perth showed signs of improvement from last week.

Best of luck to the Sharks next week :)

A big portion of the goals came from the young guys.
Ellis 2 Scliecher 2 stokes 1 and Regan 1.Good start by them.
Well done and good luck to them.

I think the most positive thing that has come from the pre season games is the form of the younger guys that have been given a chance at league level. Regan, Ellis, Schleicher and Fletcher have been able to have an impact in their roles which will make things interesting at the selection table this week for round 1. Thought Boyle also had a good game yesterday and will also stake a claim for next week. Reckon we still need to improve from where we are at to knock over East Perth next week.

I only got to see the first half and we looked very good. We continually creating from half back & through the centre. Our midfield completely dominated and TBH we should have been 10 goals up at half time as was our dominance.
Not sure what happened in the 2nd half for Perth to get back into it but they were severely outplayed in the first half and may struggle unless they get a few key players back into that side, if there is any to come back?

From all reports McGough is out for a while with his back. J Bristow for a couple with ribs from the previous game. Others key players to come back in will be Youngy, Hampson & Eardley.

Well done to Regan, Fletcher & Schleicher for terrific games.

Great day all round with colts & ressies winning by 10 goals each and the 16s winning by 4 goals.

Now to back it up against the WC reserves.
