OK and good luck to WP...but why would Channel 9 want to sponsor a WAFL club?

Were they not bidding to telecast WAFL games next year on their GEM channel? They might be trying to get a foot in the door perhaps? Just a thought....

I'll make sure to check it out the next time I'm at Freo Oval then Bazza.

Its only there for the bigger games.

great result that mike. The only downside is that these numbers will boost the average attendances for 2014 so far. The people will then say look at the numbers but we cant just keep relying on the crowds for foundation day to prop us up. The numbers are down and its disturbing. One thing I will say is that if it's fixtured right and there is some marketing (west Perth ad on channel 9) then crowd numbers can rise.

Absolutely spot on. Credit to West Perth for their marketing of their 20th anniversary. Hopefully the people who don't normally come to the WAFL liked what they saw this weekend and come back again!

Unfortunately tho Mike the WP vs ERT game was one of the worst games of WAFL footy (not WP's fault either) I have seen in many years and in absolutely perfect conditions too which may turn those neutrals there for the junior parade off going back to the WAFL.
WCE/ERT are doing the WAFL no favours whatsoever with that boring, no risk AFL structured football not the fast free flowing plenty of goals kicked footy we love in the WAFL!

Rock Channel 7 are sponsers of EP EAGLES.. Noticed they had a Sat dish at the game yesterday.. Dont know if they were after just some news video but doubt it
Now it is common knowledge 7 Will get the WAFL games so maybe just practising B)

Lets hope because 7 are sponsers of EP who just happen to be a Alignment side they dont just show the EP V ??? Games because of their AFL players being in the team and trying to get a Eagle/AFL audience?

Yeh I know lots of questions maybe I am wrong but I smell a rat

That makes sense because to run an OB van etc to test would be to iron out any gremlins. Silly 7 would not be there to report on the Wafl. Personally speaking, hope the Wafl telecasts stay on abc tv.

For me they ABC has been a loyal servant for the WAFL and should be commended. But for this game to grow one of the factors that needs to be changed is getting this broadcast onto a commercial station.

was trying to work out why the perth derby had ~1000 more attend their game than the freo derby and apart from the freo derby being televised live on ABC(cannot remember the last time a Monday game was televised) and now to read that wp had their junior parade...it makes sense

would be spewie if I was sf as I would guess that up to 2k would of stayed home
