How many times did they bomb it in to Bradley who had 2 taller players on him? Swans were very good on the transition and had too many out there for us. Still, there's next week and I'll do something I haven't done since I got married - go to church and pray for a miracle

My wish would be for us to beat Claremont & EP to get rolled next week so we get to play swans in the first semi. I think both results are highly unlikely, but I have seen many odd results in sport.

funny things is, EF have struggled all year to win at home......now all three grades have to win just to even get a finals sniff......do any of EF three grades deserve a finals spot?.....probably not......

congrats to SD on the win......deserved it and probably by a shed load more than 20 odd points.....christ Embley would of been lynched if EF got up and won......good to see three games next week all will have some bearing on the 3rd and 4th spot.....EF could possibly finish as high as 3rd if the results go their way.....don't think 3rd is a true reflection of EF season though......4th or 5th is about it.....

the reserves are running out of players it seems....second week on the trot a couple colts players are pulled out their game midway for a run in the reserves......whilst the colts let SD kick a few in the last to lose that few % needed to keep Subi at bay.....I see Jonathon Marsh kicked 5.5......what's that now Jonathon, 20.35 for the season?.......fingers crossed you get your radar sorted v Cl.....

as for next week......a few funny things can happpen....the funniest would be WP 'A' team showing up and winning......SD getting pinged by the umps in the final minutes of the league and WP winning......WCEP getting done by Subi and Cl with nothing to gain, resting some of their big guns next week and EF getting up over CL 'B' team and sneaking 3rd spot..though I have no doubts a few of those SD and EP boys have a few laughs of their own...watch this space I guess? :silly: ......seemed to work for Cardy!!

Don't tempt fate freeze - the swans boys whinge about umps when they lose, whinge about them when they win and whinge about them all year, every game. If the umps did actually lose a final for the whingers, I reckon they'd all pull out their Uzis and head down to umpire training night :woohoo:

naaggh 58, we need to cut those SD boys a bit of slack.....it must be frustrating seeing your team getting pinged week in week out, year in year out by the umps.....hopefully you and I mate will live to see the day, Swandog et al write a post congratulating the umps on a good game.......though TBH that Perth/SD merger you talk about looks more promising!!! :P

Great post and enjoyed reading it.. Now getting onto A and B teams.. What if Bill rests a few with "niggles" and CLA rests a few with"Niggles"
And Swans and EF win? Then EP EAGLES put in their AFL team (6 available) and win v Subi or even if they put in their B team and lose they could either be in or out.. % will come into play... To hard basket :( Well not really but I know we have 2nd SPOT whatever happens and we play Cla for a chance in the GF the fast way.
Now what game is more important to CLA and WP do you think? Winning a game with full side risking injuries or letting a few rest. Shit our guys will be well rested after a 3 week break.

OK did the calc ;) IF EP lose... SD into third (def WP) EF into 4 (Def CLA) EP 5TH... Now I like that :)

Coaches call... Is it legal? Is it Tanking? Will the WAFL take a dim view of it all? Nah dont think so as all players have a niggle or two :)

So dont lose heart it could be a very interesting round next week.

Well actually I do give a FARK! as this comes into play

Interesting post by WAFLOVER re FINALS. GOOD to see has done a bit of research and a good post. If they front up with this lot they will be hard to beat.

East Perth are looking somewhat ominous now. Six Eagles have now qualified to play finals - Matt Rosa, Adam Selwood, Blayne Wilson, Cale Morton, Scott Lycett and Jamie Cripps.
I don't begrudge them Adam Selwood (always an EP-aligned player), but I think the addition of Rosa, Wilson and Lycett from Peel has strengthened them (despite the loss of Dockers players to Peel). And I think Morton and Cripps, who should be playing elsewhere, have certainly tipped the scales

AND SHIT IT IS GOING TO GET WORSE IN 2014 :(

thing is Cardy EP won't be able to play their full team.....Selwood will get a farewell game for WCE......WCE were diabolical again no doubt the likes of Rosa,Cripps,Lycett and Wilson will play.....perhaps Morton will be given a game too....as for WP resting players next week v SD?....not too sure how wise it will be supposedly playing 9 guys in a 2nd semi coming off more than a 3 week break....especially v Cl....suicide if you ask me.....

surely Bill will give most of those 9 guys a trundle, in as you say a meaningless game for WP, v SD.......risk them being injured or risk having 9 guys being under done in the 2nd semi?.....Cl on the other hand are in a better position to rest boys......don't think they will, but you never know, the EF game is of little consequence to them tho, why risk a few senior boys....especially since CL reserves are out of finals contention too.....also whose to say Lyon might give Ibbo or McPharlin a run in the Cl game to prepare them for finals footy at Freo......Dalziell, Sheppard and Brown have been ordinary of late for WCE.....whose to say they may get the flick by Woosha.....lots of ifs and buts.......

Agree Freezin.. The way I see it WP will put in a full team. Maybe 1 or 2 out if not fully recovered but the will want to give the full team a hard run before going on to meet Cla.
Agree I think the idea was to give players a rest during the EF game and give all players going into finals a run v SD so they are match fit and he can also make an assessment of players in that game.
As you say if he doesnt it could come back to bite him on the arse.
Thursday will tell the story with sides and looking forward to both the CLA and WP selections on Thursday.
I am sure EF and Swans will be looking as well as they will be using full strength side to try and get a place in the 4

Subi would love to go out with a win but v EP but cant see it. But then again they did surprise with the CLA game and after watching the SF V EP game yesterday nothing will surprise

Cardy/Freeze,

There will be no chance we will be resting blokes this round as we have just come off a bye and the injured players that have been in heavy discussion will need the run in their legs. I reckon we are in a good position, the loss of Slick will be telling I think.
