That's a great relief that Tony Olango is apparently OK, royallucky.
As you said, the result pales into insignificance compared to a player's wellbeing.
When Swans - having played some pretty polished footy - led 7.2 to 1.7 midway through the second quarter, I feared we were facing a 10-goal defeat.
However, the boys dug deep and played with that old Royals' pre-alignment grit and determination.
I don't think Swans are that far away, having lost five games this season by less than 10 points.

Well done on the win yesterday Grump, Arch & co.
Despite my team's continual failures it is good to have a normal EP back without the Eagles influence.
You have a budding superstar there in Ajang who I have always knew had ability back in his Colts days but he absolutely dominated that game yesterday in one of the best ruck displays I have seen for some time at WAFL level.

Thanks, Beas, I don't know of any East Perth supporters who are upset that the alignment is over.
There may well be some who followed the Royals years ago and only got back on board because they support Wet Toast in the AFL.
However, the good folk (including One Time Only) I watch the footy with are glad the Budgies have gone.
Given his fine display yesterday, particularly his strong marking, I'd be very surprised if Ajang isn't drafted at the end of the year.
Wouldn't it be bizarre if the Sydney Swans drafted him - a ruck duo of Ajang Ajang and fellow WA product Allir Allir, who spent time on the ball against Essendon yesterday.

Only one thing stopping Agang from an afl career - his temper, he beat Gault clearly in the ruck and around the ground.
How good is that Dobson bloke, not an athlete but a top footballer, like watching him play.
Well done royals

You're right there, MO, unfortunately Ajang can be put off his game, as Subi ruckman Tim Sutherland did in last year's reserves grand final.
I know AJ was reported for striking Matt Riggio late in the game, but it may have been a little love tap.
Yes, Mitch Dobson can take a strong mark and kick goals from outside 50.
I sometimes think if he's left one-out with his opponent he has the capacity to kick 5 or 6 goals in a match.

Too true ADGM. And perhaps the biggest joke of all was at the AGM when we were told that our Membership would increase dramatically when the West Coast supporters flocked to our games to see "their" boys play despite what WAFL Club they previously supported.
In fact, I think our Membership dropped and I don't know if it has recovered as yet.
We know we are in for a tough time in the immediate future but we don't care. We are free of the canaries and I wouldn't wish Alignment on any other Club.

Totally agree MO and Archie, Ajang is a talent but a bit of a hot head, something that needs to addressed and sorted. Dobbo appears to playing more half forward then deep forward over the last few weeks, his kicking on both sides of his body is elite, sets up a number of goals for others each week.

I think Ajang Ajangs mobility and agility are second to none in the general field play, but i still feel he struggles against the bigger bodied ruckman like Sutherland in last years reserve finals.as well as big Brooksby from the Eagles where he only won 17 taps ,Goddard from Claremont as well as a 33 year old Jonathon Griffin who took AJ to the cleaners who took him to the cleaners.but i'm sure its something with more experience he'll eventually address, and i still feel DOBBO is playing at 50%capacity with some of his second efforts still not quite there which was why Barney had him languishing in the 2s at the start of the season, but if he puts it all together he can be anythiing.

One Time Only, I think another fear about the alignment was that the Eagles would plant "stooge" members to exert greater control over the club when it came to voting at the AGM.
There may have been a couple planted, but thankfully there was no outside push to change our colours as was once feared.
Agree with your respective thoughts about AJ, SD351 and royallucky, namely that he can be stirred up on the field and also out-bodied.
However, a good mentor should help him deal with any "psychological warfare", while increased experience will teach him a few tricks to handle bigger opponents.
Yes, Dobbo has a lot of potential and seems to do some things with ridiculous ease, but lacks consistency at the moment.
Players like him are certainly WAFL drawcards when on song.

Sometimes, rarely but there are players who just enjoy the game at this level. I have known Mitch for a few years now and he has never really changed, without arrogance he understands what he is capable of but he is enjoying himself. If the match required it he would rise to the occasion but unless that other 21 do then it is a bit difficult.

Let him be and we will get to enjoy his play, he reminds me of Steve Da Rui even when he was at Carlton, just seem to have so much time and the ability to use the ball well
We live in a time where intelligent people are being silenced so stupid people won't be offended
