Larry Bird wrote: From my understanding Swans where (sic) ahead of the Salary Cap at half way. I'm sure it's a health check by the commission of all clubs. Through injuries or selection they paid their players less in the second half of the year and kept inside the total cap. I don't see why this is still a sore point. Also the Swans arrangements with the ATO seems cause for argument for some reason.

LB read the first sentence of the above quote. QED.

Larry Bird wrote: Can you please find the post where I asserted Swans breached the salary cap. I know how much you love evidence.

I have provided the post; why haven't you apologised for erroneously asserting that Swans had breached the salary cap?

LB and Mudlark where is the apology? Swans WERE NEVER OVER the salary cap in 2014; why haven't you apologised for saying they were over the salary cap in 2014?

Your making yourself look ridiculous Swan. Ahead of salary cap is different from breaching it. You really are about half as clever as you think you are. Are you a hoarder by chance you seem to get fixated on things.

Let me put it simply for you LB. If the salary cap is say $230,000 for the season, it is $230,000 whether it is round 1, round 11 or round 23. There is no requirement for the salary cap to be paid on a pro-rata basis. Therefore, it is only exceeded when a club pays more than the salary cap. You have asserted that Swans were ahead of the salary cap at the half way mark of the 2014 season. For that to be true it would require to have exceeded the salary cap; that did not occur at any stage of the 2014 season. Swans did not at any stage exceed the salary cap in 2014.

LB you need to apologise or provide evidence that Swans exceeded the salary cap in 2014.

Look Larry it's a bit hard to have a good debate when your particular club has around $450 000 worth of AFL assistance each year on a silver service platter my friend

Now it's up to you whether you take that personally mate but I find it reasonably hard to respect an administration that snaked their way to the dinner table but also have the gall to demand extra out of zone players and bitch about their unsatisfactory zones and kids who aren't ready

I don't take it personally at all Southerner I'm not an apologist for the EPFC. You have perhaps come in on the tail end of this debate. I at know time said Swans breached the 2014 salary cap. I just tried to mediate between two other posters. Swan42 keeps ranting so by the end of a long thread it paints a completely false picture. This method of debate is built on belligerence not in fact. Once again Swan I ask for the post that I declared a breach. I know it does not exist but I wait for your shrill ever desperate response.

LB your direct and unexpurgated quote:
From my understanding Swans where (sic) ahead of the Salary Cap at half way.

As there is NO REQUIREMENT to pay the salary cap in a linear function the ABSOLUTELY ONLY TIME a club can BREACH THE SAPARY CAP is if it has PAID MORE THAN THE SALARY CAP. The half way point is a complete and utter non sequitur. You are fundamentally and entirely wrong in your assertion that Swans had breached the salary cap. If you have evidence that Swans had breached the salary cap ring our Treasurer or CEO or G Walton from the WAFC and outline that evidence. If you have no evidence then APOLOGISE for impugning the reputation of the SDFC, Directors, members, players and supporters.

Where is my quote asserting a breach Swan42. I'm well aware the salary cap is not on a game by game basis but a year at completion. Either find the quote or give me a written apology. It is poor form to falsely accuse fellow posters.

Swan42 provided your quote above where you said swans were above the cap at the half way, if swans were over the cap at the half way they would have been fined as a team can't go over the salary cap.
I know you mean based on projections it was thought at the end of the year they might go over and swan42 provided info from the swans treasurer on this so case closed, take your budgeting skills elsewhere
