Well said Taylor.

I said this half way through the year that 'heart' will win that team the GF against EP.

Howson and Turner do not give a damn about the members or the "heart" of the club. All they are interested in is a flag and don't care what it takes to get one. We were dictated to at the last AGM and we will be dictated to at the next one in Feb. That is IF we are even allowed to enter.

The alignment suits their needs and to hell with those who disagree or get in the way, either deliberately or accidentally.

I have followed East Perth (on and off) for around 40 years. I say "on and off" only because I don't wish to falsely claim a level of fanaticism that I haven't actually demonstrated. One of my new year's resolutions is to get to more games.

I don't claim to be an expert on footy, certainly not on the club, and whilst I love East Perth dearly, I don't follow the juniors, know the families behind the club, or get involved in any way.

I can understand both sides of the Alignment argument. I don't really weigh in on either because I don't really feel I have the right. I should also mention that I am an Eagles fan (and a Wildcats devotee for what that's worth) so for me watching Eagles play for East Perth is no chore.

I don't mind that East Perth cannot recruit externally, I suppose that is the price paid for the influx of AFL listees. However I am concerned at the lack of opportunities for younger players. Like any fan, I like to see the youngsters come from the junior clubs and stay on to become stalwarts of the club. It's also great to see brothers (and even cousins) play at the same club, which is a family connection usually lost at AFL level.

It wouldn't be so bad if The Eagles had actually drafted a few East Perth boys, but I think the last time that happened was Dean Cox? (and that only on the recommendation of his Uncle George.)

Good post Dazz, I agree with you it is not ideal that opportunity is limited to our young guys. But hopefully it's five years maximum after which we will be in a dominate financial position and can call our own shots. As an Eagles member I see no real benefit of a full alignment but will always support both the Eagles and Royals players either way.

Oh, so you have the Sports Results almanac as used in "Back to the Future movie."

Pray tell, who will win the 2015 WAFL Grand Final then and what will the scores be?
Also who will win the Sandover and Goalkicking Medals?

Quick, tell me so that I can get a good price at the TAB. (Even though I don't bet)

Ouch must of hit a nerve..........

Buying a flag didn't work in 2014 and wont work in 2015.

Subiaco will win another one as I cant see any club getting close to them.

p.s Back To The Future was fantasy so is EP's premiership hopes.

Turtle, I'd love to think your right about Subi in 2015 and no doubt we will be there or there abouts, but remember Subi were gifted a GF spot courtesy of the Sharks inability to hit the side of a barn, EF should have won by 3 or 4 goals and they would have had the pleasure of beating the feral Eagles.

On the Ferals, on paper they should have won comfortably as they did in the 2nd semi, but unlike the 2nd semi, Subi tested them in the 3rd qtr with pure gut running and a fanatical attack on the ball, that was when the listed players put the cue back in the rack, it just got too hard for these guys who really were not prepared to risk themselves, unlike the real Royals players like Wolf and other EP veterans who continued to try their guts out but half a team will never beat a whole team and that is likely to be the case in 2015 as I don't see anything changing at the East Eagles.

The real WAFL teams to watch in 2015 besides Subi will be Claremont who should cover their losses with quality returning players, remember they were clearly the form team of the comp at the end of last season, Swans will be stronger and tougher given the games they put into their youngsters, they will be much more consistent and wont have the fade outs in the second half of the season,Souths I think may cause some real havoc now they have a coach, they have such a deep well of young talent like CL so expect them to be in the frame. WP will be intent on putting their flag hangover behind them and EF will be just as competitive as last year where, as I said they missed the GF by a whisker, Perth I think may improve but probably not a finals contender and really who cares about Peel & EPE

Seagull Subi would be walk up favs at the start of the year and yes EF would have rolled the eagles.

Far too much polish for other sides. Big bank balance to recruit quality, well coached, well run professional outfit and from their last game lots of heart to roll an AFL outfit in the wet conditions. Injuries would be the only thing to derail a BTB. EF CL and Ducks will be right up there too.
