I believe they use Johnson down at EP as a barometer for the development of the young rucks coming thru. If they can't beat Johnson on the training track then they have no chance at succeeding at AFL level. He is the barometer for what one might say "not quite up to it". Bloody close to it but no cigar there so a good indicator for the AFL club. Always hard to judge rucks at an early stage so good for the Eagles to have a big bodied bloke the next gen of rucks can jump all over and work towards the next step against....for this very reason they have not lied to him when they say he "will be under the eye of an AFL club"

Turtle I did ask. Yes he was offered contracts from numerous other WAFL clubs but never intended to leave the Mighties.

First question a club would have asked him: are you interesting in leaving "East Perth"? If his answer was no, then there would not have been an offer made let alone a legal document such as a contract.

Verbal contracts were made by several clubs including the one LB refers to.
