It was and it bodes well for the future, talking to a couple of colts players they feel that can go all the way which is great. One reckoned that despite the score that the hardness of the game in the morning was a good prep for them.

but does it bode well for SF tho.....any decent youngster if drafted won't be wearing SF colours next year....the likes of Pickett, Johnson, McCarthy, Sokol etc could easily be draft or rookies at the end of the year.....sad for SF but good for the kids!!

Agree...with all about South's......they played excellent football.

As I have noted on another thread, our players were confused with the changes being made from the bench. This can only disrupt what they are trying to do on the field. Not wanting to make excuses, but we were slow....Our players got caught a quite a few times holding the ball....this shows either a lack of awareness, talk, speed or all 3.

People could also say 'no Josh Smith no East Perth'. Looking at the game I would say they are correct....thankfully he is under contract for next season.

i was sitting on a tractor all day on saturday but was listening to the radio broadcast. sounded like a tremendous game of footy. goal for goal like the old days & 40plus goals kicked.

all credit to souths. must be some real potential down their from what the commentators were saying.

and for east perth to kick the first 5 goals and still lose, shows to me they wont be contenders. Good sides dont do that. I think east perth will want to make sure they dont stuff up again against oobie doobie, because despite what happened to the sharks I think they will beat claremont on saturday. I dont know why but I think they will get up.

Disappointing performance. South seemed to have more run and worked harder. Need more pace in the side. Hopefully the boys can bounce back next week.
