Under the circumstances,an excellent effort by the boys today.i thought we controlled  the general play and had 9 more inside fifties, but 7 goals from 48 inside entries will not win you too many games of football. The simple missed set shot by Eddie in the last quarter was inexcusable, and together with the 1 mark for the whole game,is unfortunately further confirmation that he is simply not up to it,and Nick Robertson has failed to live up to expectations, and the negative impact of Freo's mind boggling mid season drafting was really felt today.Jackson Ramsay broke down AGAIN at half time and with Thomas Baldwin going down in the 3rd quarter we only had 2 on the bench, but the boys to their credit never threw in the towel.                                                                      The big positives for today was the excellent move of playing Watts as a utility, and he played his best game for the club, and i thought debutant Schofield showed a bit in the forward line, and Fullgrabe was excellent on the turncoat, and Stan Wright has continued his fine form as a defender, but kicking goals will probably be our biggest headache for the remainder of the season,as well as bewildering umpiring non decisions, and todays trio surely must have undiagnosed cataract problems.

If we are going to gripe  about Eddie's shot which didn't miss by much than Pebbles absolutely horrible kick running into goal which didn't score plus a kick by Robbo should be mentioned as well.Yes we got the ball in 48 times but we need to look at the poor delivery into our forward line by players not under pressure I can remember one by Willcocks and i think Brayshaw which went straight to defenders chest.West Perth run the ball out of our backline too easily.Once their tall defenders punch the ball where are our small forwards.Tey are not kicking goals or  putting pressure onj the defenders.Losing Sebit has taken some x factor from the forward line.Barney mentioned in the west today he is looking at the mix  of our forward and going shorter and more mobile is a option but if we can't hit targets it won't work.Great to see the colts beat the undefeated Falcons and register 85 tackles in a shorter game.

Your kidding are you, comparing pebbles rushed snap to Eddies set shot in a designated position he has played the majority of his career, and i don't know if you noticed but Brayshaw was B.O.G.so its not very wise to bring up his mistakes, especially compared to Eddies input.

We had a red hot go today, but unfortunately, WP always seemed to have the answer.
It was noticeable how precise the Falcons were with their kicking out of defence, while they certainly beat us in the air.
Had Eddie converted his set-shot early in the last quarter, that may have given us some momentum after Christian Ameduri's superb goal after the three-quarter-time.
We've gone three years between drinks against WP, last beating them at Leederville in the corresponding fixture in 2019.
Only four of our side that day played for us today, while the Falcons had 12 blokes who played in both games
WP also had seven players with 100-plus senior games experience and two more in the high 90s, while by my calculations, Nick Robertson is our only centurion (that includes his Brisbane Lions games).
If we can keep the bulk of the team together for a while, plus recruit to cover our well-documented deficiencies, we might be a genuine finals contender next year.
However, I live in hope that we can string some wins together this year.
The best confidence builder is to win a few games on the trot.

No substitute for experience Archie, and losing a senior player like Ramsay was a huge blow.,which made todays effort even more meritorious.

Absolutely, RL, Jackson Ramsay is unfortunately very injury prone.
It would've been convenient had Sebit not been picked up by Freo last week, while Angus Schumacher's absence due to COVID was critical.
Still, these things are part of footy 2022, so we have to learn to adapt.

watched the replay and the commentator mentioned pebbles had more time then he realised.Basically 20 metres in front of goal and missed the lot.somebody next to me said how did he not score..As for Eddie he hit the post..A centremetre to the right and he would have had two goals but not enough to satisfy some.Robbo shanked one as well but protected species so nothihing to talk about..As fo Brayshaw he along with willcocks Scott and others Just banged the ball into the fifty and with no vision turned the ball over.West Perths ball use into the forward line was much better.Iif we don't improve in ur ball use it  won't matter how many times we get it into the fifty metre zone or who we have there we won't kick a winning score..

West Perth ball use better according to you,but with a star studded forward line, kick 9 goals from 39 forward 50 entries,so somehow this does not compute to me,but you probably rate Eddie SIMPSON on a par with Keitel.Do you understand Ameduri is a tagger????we don't rely on him to kick goals, and if he does its a bonus, but at least he wins a bit of the ball, unlike Eddie who's job is to take marks and kick goals, and he barely does neither. If the delivery was so bad why did small forwards Mehdat and first gamer SCHOFIELD take 5marks and kick 2 goals each if the delivery was that bad?????as opposed to Eddies one mark  1 goal and simple set shot miss at a critical time of the game, so do you understand or get what i'm saying???

If the ball use was so bad, why was Sebit the WAFL's second leading goal goalkicker and the club was sitting 3rd on the ladder for points  scored, before the Dorkers took him away???

Need to make a reply to some ridiculous staements you made.

1.west perth's ball use from backline to forward line was much better hence even tho they only had 39 inside fifties they kicked more goals.
2.Medhat and schofield are not small forwards.they are 191cm same height as Jack Darling and our former full back shaggy anderson.Even robbo is 190 cm which is not a small forward.
3.Medhat took 3 of his marks inside 50 and one contested for his two goals.Schofield took no marks inside fifty in fact his two goals came from cruming not marks inside fifty.
.4.Our ball movement inside fifty was the worst so far inside fifty all year,We took about ten marks inside  fifty thru on mark by medhat and nine reasonable out of the ten marks we got four goals 3 points,.One out of bounds on the full and two failed passes to players that ended up being defended by west perth and no score.Out of the other 38 entries we got a freekick for a point.and three goals from crumbs. The other 30 times west perth were able to intercept marks,  punch away or just walk it out of our forward line due to our non existant small forwards and our poor ball use.
5. Was eddies kick that bad.Medhat had a shot from a free kick in exactly the same spot and kicked a point.Robbo had two set shots inside fifty at the same end as Medhat and Eddie.First kick was out of bounds on the full and the second one barely scored.Add into Amerduri's poor effort from a quick shjot i9n front of goal that went out of boumds on the full.We had our chances but didn't take them.Eddie didn't have a good day but wasn't the only reason we lost.
