after last weeks performance i was expecting a better performance.scrappy back to the over possession game.and dumb football.one of our high profile recruits typified this.i think his most comical was taking a mark on the half back flank and instead of kicking up to the wing he ran in a circle and kicked over to the other half back flank.a win is a win but i doubt i will remember this one in years to come.

Certainly not a memorable win, chaddy, but very few victories are after the euphoria of defeating Claremont last Sunday.
"Winning ugly" is the popular footy expression to describe our performance, but we were coming off a six-day break and lost Jackson Ramsay halfway through the third quarter.
Perth had their chances in the opening 10 minutes and I thought we were lucky not to be 2-3 goals down before we created a lot of (largely unconverted) opportunities of our own.
I thought Aidan Lynch, Scott Jones and Nathan Eaton (one of the best games I've seen him play) were our best three.
Jayden Magro has gone off the boil since his devastating second half against Peel.
He appears to have lost a lot of confidence around goal, but I'm sure he can turn that around before the season is over.
I notice "the Dobsonator" had 31 possessions and kicked a couple of goals in the reserves.
Hopefully, he pulled up OK and is selected in the seniors for next week's game against Swans.
Dobbo gives us a bit of the "X-factor" we lack up forward, though I was very impressed with Tom Edwards-Baldwin's work today.

I expected a flat performance Archie after taking a big scalp last Sunday, and the good sides, who generally have a bit of quality on most lines, are able to maintain that weekly consistent performance, and we are  not quite there yet.Full credit to Perth as they brought alot of tackling intensisty, and this week we were the hunted instead of being the hunter, and as a result our skills were down, but we are definitely on the way up,and what about the poise and class of Harley Sparks,he is going to be one to watch as we climb back up the ladder, and i hope common sense prevails as the foundations have been laid for a successful future.

Fair point, royallucky, it's not often that we go into games being "the hunted".
Full credit to Perth for their spirited display.
I thought they moved the ball through the centre a lot easier than we did, but broke down across their half-forward line.
That said, our back six performed superbly.
Yes, Harley Sparks does show a lot of composure given his inexperience.
He's an outside chance of being drafted, but if not should have a long career in the blue and black.

Firstly the colts were great but the Perth boys did not throw the towel in, full credit to them

Ressies are just have not got the players and yes Dobbo played well as did a few others. Jaxon Cahill has probably played his last game for the club after re-injuring his hamstring.

As for the league some one mentioned one of the $1k players doing a dumb thing, well that goes to ......... .

Never one to ignore a rumor Sebit Kuek and Ajang Ajang have both walked or so I was told by a couple of folk. Oh well it has started earlier than anyone expected.

Players don’t like playing reserves anymore so collect the transfer cash and get players of stronger character.   Yesterday’s game would of been much closer if Perth had of played the ball.  They looked quicker and ran straighter lines but completely hopeless forward of centre.  Why you would play Giblett forward is beyond me.

2019 players do not mind playing reserves if they know that there is a chance based on form that they may get a league berth.

So given our injury record, form and other stuff why is it we have only played 33 players this season. Why is it that Boules (who will win the Reserves F& B), McGuire, Rowe, Underwood ( who played and outstanding game against CL but was summarily dropped the next week) and those dropped like Wright not given an opportunity given their respective form. Perth have played 44 in an effort to give players a reward and cover their injury toll.

Yep Perth did play the man a bit particularly against Ramsay but where was the support, where was the so called hard man protecting him or dishing out the same pressure to his opponent.

And yes in my opinion the answer lies ..........

players leave for various reasons injury, age, work commitments gripes about not getting a game or they just don't like the coach.all i know is we seem to be leaking a lot of players every year.apparantly a third was talked out of leaving.not the first time players have had to be talked out of leaving  mid season.i understand in 2019 two players were talked out of leaving mid season even tho regular league players..both left at the end of the year.one would definitely get a game now as he could play ruck, forward and back.so what is the reason.i have my suspicions.

Ajang had his chance and failed, just like some disgruntled ex colts trainers.

Yeah we would've beaten Claremont by 5 goals if McGuire, Boules and Underwood had played.
