Our recent record against the Port side is one that has had its ups and downs in recent times, losing one recently to a poor decision but hey we need to move on (not bloody likely).

It will be a difficult task but we can if everyone comes to play and do their roles we can do it.

The reserves will have a another hard game but I am confident of a good showing.

With a bit of luck the colts can press for a win but that will be a big challenge.

South don’t look much on paper but the system they play holds up year in year out. If we can’t run them very close I think it requires a reshuffle of personnel going forward. The reserves need to switch on as the last couple of performances have been a little mediocre.

Disappointing fade out and this time the senior midfielders have to take responsibility, but the future is still very very bright.

"Disappointing" is an understatement after that last-quarter collapse of monumental proportions, royallucky.
We've snatched defeat from the jaws of victory a number of times these past few years, but today takes the cake.
It's heartbreaking to be over five goals up late in the third quarter, only to lose by almost four goals.
I just hope the boys didn't subconsciously assume they had it won at three-quarter-time.
That said, full credit to South Fremantle for producing the most devastating quarter of WAFL football by any one team in season 2020.
I reckon Brock Higgins lifts 100% when he plays his old team, and the three centre clearances that he won early in the final term all led to goals.
And give Mason Shaw the ball within range and he doesn't miss.
Unfortunately, our tall timber up forward struggled.
I think we're at least one quality midfielder short of being a good side.
We need to pick up a pacy midfielder who can break the lines similar to how Jackson Ramsay does.
And a mean key defender would also be handy.
Easier said than done, though.

No cause for alarm Arch we'll be playing finals this time next year.

I wish I shared your optimism, royallucky.
I am, by nature, a pessimist when it comes to the Mighty Royals' fortunes and think we have a few areas of concern.
Hopefully some judicious recruiting and an intensive preseason will stand us in good stead for 2021.

The train journey was filled with one bit of hope with a little bit of satisfaction and one ray of surety. The day was rewarded with a large dose of pride, surety for-filled with 10 minutes of good football and a 25 minute dose of disappointment.

The pride was asa result of watching the colts who battled hard against a very committed Bulldogs outfit, and their battling finally paid a handsome result with a great win. Adam Boules came back after a lengthy injury break and showed why he is a talent to follow! As usual in a game in the port there was a little push and shove which just added to the contest and made the win that much more rewarding!

It is no reflection on souths but the reserves really only played 10 minutes of good football and it was enough to see off the opposition. They have not really played well for a couple of weeks but done enough to register wins. There will be some who don't agree but even in a shortened season being undefeated is a great result.

The main game was just really great for three quarters, we played with certainty, system and strength but for me I kept waiting for Souths to assert themselves and the question then would be could we withstand the onslaught, well the answer is not this time. Souths have been playing the same system for how many seasons and yes they have a turnover of players but one thing in my years of limited involvement and watching is that with the number of newer players in our team and when a side puts the pressure on one thing that is found wanting is the trust in you new team mates to rise to the pressure and follow the system. The pressure was not just on the field and the same result was apparent.

Keep the faith and just understand that we have improved from last year and with what we have is will enable us to improve even more. Freeman will be better after a preseason, Robertson will be more settled both on and off the field (it is a big transition from AFL, uprooting the family, finding work and expecting a bub), Lynch and others will be better!

Exactly,we went into the game as 100/1 outsiders to win the flag and while we had gas in the tank, made the odds on favourites for 3 quarters, look very very ordinary, and with 12 more inside fifties should have been further in front at 3/4 time, but at the end of the day we are in the middle of a 3 point plan, bottom 3 first year, middle 3 second year, and top 3 third year and at the moment we're right on target.

The biggest disappointment is that had we won those games against Subiaco, Perth and South Fremantle where we gave up huge leads we would he playing finals football.
