To be honest, royallucky, after the first 10-12 minutes, I thought we were in for a very long afternoon.
The Sharks had no trouble finding space and their skills were very good.
However, we then flicked the switch and scored 15 of the last 20 goals.
I thought our attack on the ball and the opponent was tremendous, while having a few tall targets means we can kick the ball long without the slow build-up that killed us last year.
Our midfielders again got plenty of the ball.
Angus Scott, Rohan Kerr, Jackson Ramsay and Aidan Lynch had a combined 116 disposals, identical to their tally against Perth last week.
Nick Robertson took time to get into the game, but his three second-half goals gavs us another forward option.
And I like his physical approach to the game.
Already looking forward to the trip up the freeway next Saturday.

ADGM that first 10 minutes was a oh no moment, the sharks look like the WP teams that chipped the ball and then ran through lines, quite impressive but what was equally impressive was the EP players ability to stop it and move into their game plan.

It was quite an impressive game from our point of view with a number of players showing that they want to play for EP. As I have let on I am not a big fan of players who just accumulate possessions but when the get the ball and use it well the Lynch, Ramsay and Kerr are just good at it. I think Jonesy and AJ showed that they can become a powerful force for us with a tall forward line contributing to being able to kick a winning score, something we have not been able to do for quite a while. The back-line looked good with young Hayden showing that he will develop, Watts went off while doing well, apparently his finger was at right angles to what should be!

The ressies did a job on EF which shows we have good depth to fill any issues in the ones. It was interesting to see Cox having a run and he showed that there is as always something there!

The colts were beaten by a team that as their coach said promised but had not delivered, they did after half way through the second stanza and we did not know how to deal with it!

Must make mention of Taylor North, not dropped but used to make room for Robertson (which was a move that manned out hahaha)but Taylors attitude was brilliant, the team thing and he went out and played a great game in the two's!

i think north was dropped and not replaced like for like.i can understand ajang for amos as he was like for like and a more mobile replacement.mcginnitty was replaced by either robbo or turner but north wasn't replaced by a backman.last week we had too many big men in the forward line and we needed to reorganise the side.and with injuries to watts we were able to also redirect hooper to the backline.i had the feeling in the change rooms last week after the game that north wasn't flavor of the month with what barney said.

yes i like that we are playing more attacking footy and not kicking it backwards and sideways so much.we only got it inside fifty 36 times but kicked 15 goals.jones, lynch and robbo make a huge difference.also seem to have some depth in the ressies and a few to come back from injury.

Agree Chaddy, North not a key defender, only a bit of a battler, can’t handle a taller more mobile forward, not like Shaggy could do.
Can see Robbo having a few weeks off, if he doesn’t pull his head in, bit of a hot head.
Great all round performance by the forwards, all good involved and scored.

Last year was an experimental year where Barney gave everybody on the senior list, particularly the ones starved of opportunities a chance to prove their worth as well as seeing who could adjust and adapt with the different game plan and this year has seen the team play at times a very exciting brand of football, and we saw yesterday how far we've gone past a team who finished above us last year.

Stand the Test wrote: EPFC have put together a v good squad.

it has been a real challenge to keep up with the senior list with lots happening.firstly jonathan freeman having some health issues which meant he couldn't get to w.a. till recently and then injured.jake veide was recruited from sanfl but ain't playing with us.finally with the late start we have seen kyle anderson, sharrad wellingham and stan wright retire before the start of the season.jones, lynch and robertson have added some class, grunt and experience to hopefully improve us this year.

Think the true test will come against the better sides who finished more then ONE game ahead of EP mate in 2019...so far you came up short v Perth who finished a few games ahead of EP in 2019....true test v WP, Cl, SF and Subi one would think of how good Barneys strategy is going....good win tho on Sat, well deserved too.

I value your input Freezin from the ''land of the long white cloud''but Demon supporters know they got 'away with one last week''and yesterday we unleashed the Jones and Ajang ruck combination who will be a very dominant duo and Nick Robertson who debuted yesterday will cause alot of headaches for our opposition as he is a physically imposing man at WAFL level so ''Bring it on''
