Remember when we cleared up all the fallen trees & controlled the possibility of bushfires.
Appears that the hairy titted parrot & little gecko PLUS "the greenies" stopped that. Seems the country is engulfed with bushfires at the same time as "global warming" . About we introduced "greenie bashing" to keep us off the wine..

I doubt any information will keep you off the whine, but here goes:

What I find interesting is not one person has mentioned one of the obvious reasons.
Everyone seems to be flirting around the issue citing other excuses and not heard anybody (unless I've missed it) stand up to the issue. Which seems bizarre!
Some of the bushfire areas have not seen any hazard reduction or prescribed burning for over 30 years it was saying on one news report.
Of course, we all saw what happened several years ago when a bushfire razed Yarloop and sadly with loss of life. I would hope to think lessons have been learnt. Is a pity people have to die and property damage/ loss in fires before officialdom finally start listening. :(

I don’t remember burn offs being a thing when I was a kid or in my adult life until the last 10 to 15 years. Maybe I just wasn’t aware of it but it seems to be much more common in the last 5 years or so when I’ve never experienced so much pollution in Perth metropolitan area.

I think more needs to be invested in spotting fires and having the resources to get there more quickly to put them out before they get out of hand.

What surprises me is the number of fires deliberately lit.
Don't worry about climate change causing fires.
Find these bastards and tie them up by the b....

But they could be supporters of climate change..

How's the whine cellar holding up after a big Xmas, LS?

Can you get through to the new year without any further whine?

Wait and see, I guess.

There were burn offs back in the 50's - 60s & I think late autumn.

I’ll stand corrected, but I,’m pretty sure they used to have controlled burns in the 15 years I’ve been in Perth.
