This should be an interesting match up as Souths were very impressive today and should get Zac Strom back for next weekend. Hopefully we'll get Newton and maybe Clanger back but not sure how T E-B pulled up from last Saturday and whether Borchet appealed against his suspension. It looks like it's going to be fine and 22 degrees so perfect conditions for a terrific game...personally I can't wait to take on the only team to beat us this year in a major final. Bring it on.

I'm not sure mate. I see he's logged on a few times recently but hasn't posted. I actually connected pretty well with most of his views on things and thought he was a switched on type of guy. I hope he gets back on here soon.

Does anyone know if we appealed against the Borchet suspension and if so, the result?

Have not heard of an appeal. My understanding is the one week ban still stands. Which means Borchet will be unavailable for the South Fremantle match as Subiaco did not see action last week. It's my understanding

Cheers wag...I'd not heard or read anything either so I guess he'll miss out this week.

No surprise that Borch gets a week for a love tap that the bloke got straight up from and took his free kick but mongo Vardy gets off for a dangerous tackle
Borchet is a big loss as it upsets the balance of the forward line that has worked so well with he, Sok, Waters & Co. Would think Clang would come in at FF and do some limited ruckwork or Verm will take over FF. Given we will have Higgins and Strom to contend with in the ruck I'd be bringing in Clang if he's pulled up ok after last weeks ressies.

Clang didn't finish last Sunday's game against the jerkers reserves with some sort of facial injury. Hopefully it's not too bad as he would be the obvious replacement for Borch.

Here's an injury update off the Subi website. It sounds like Newton is doubtful and Wheels as well.

Craig Hoskins (quad) is listed as a test ahead of the Semi-Final clash against South Fremantle this weekend, with Hayden training with the playing group and running freely from his setback and will be in contention for selection this week, according to Subiaco Senior Coach, Beau Wardman.

Ben Newton is also listed as a test after injuring his wrist.
“We will give Newts every chance to get back on the park this week. He has been tracking well and able to maintain his running,” Wardman said.

Clancy Wheeler came off with a broken nose in the reserves game against West Perth on Sunday.
“Shocking incident for Clancy on Sunday, he has suffered a broken nose and a few stitches but might still be able to get out on the weekend. He is very courageous but we will have to wait until the end of the week with some more medical advice as to happens this weekend,” Wardman said.

Simon Moore and Jakob Atkinson both came off the field injured in Subiaco's last home game of the 2019 Optus WAFL Premiership Season, with neither player returning to the field.
“Both boys have been tracking well and will return to Subiaco colours this week. Certainly having the week off has helped to manage the boys through and we took a conservative approach with them. Looking forward to seeing the boys back out there on the weekend. ”
