It didn't rise to any great heights but congrats to Horse for his 200th and Soks for winning the Austin Robertson medal....well that's what it should be known as if you look at both the great full forwards respective records. Usual suspects all very good in Soks, Borchet, Dela, Heal, Clark, Lockyer and a special shout out to Maxy Walters who was bog for mine. I spoke to Ben Newton and he expects to be available for the second semi. Also good to see Fimmano, Kennedy play today and Wheeler get through the ressies ok.
Agree BC, they did what they had to, interesting to see how EP went about it, no questioning their committment and hardness at the contest, just lacked any real level of polish, but they are a pretty young group and with the expected recruiting EP will be far more competetive next year. They play a very high tempo high disposal game and that saw the majority of them gassed by 3/4 time and we just rolled over them, The margin at the end did not reflect the effort EP put in for 3 qtrs against the fittest team in the comp.
I think Borch went in the book, didn't look like much more than a love tap, the EP lad was up quick to take his free kick, so expect just a reprimand, same should be the case for EP's Dobson who tunnelled Walters, Maxy left the ground for a check but finished the game as near BOG. Like the look of narsh playing off a wing big bodied player with pace and good skills and with Clark playing mostly off the other wing, they are two big lads for opposition teams to counter. Liked Clark's effort pinch hitting in the ruck, did a good job to let Dela have a break.
Boys have earned the week off but they can expect next week to be pretty intense on the track before tapering ahead of the 2nd semi, they will have a good look at the SF v Cl qual final which should be a ripper of a game, hope it's a really intense hard slog of a game that goes down to the wire.
