Cheers BC...Subi set the benchmark and it's up to EF to match it, if they want to be successful again....

I know you don't like hearing Freez but your boys were only one straight kick away from a GF in 2014...so you've been thereabouts for a while. I don't think Wiley did your group any favours but Monaghan should bring about improvement.....mind you...your 7.26 in 2014 was a lot better than 2.19 by last night's rabble. ;-)

Be a bit strange if a part time ruckman lacking the capacity to take on Jonathon Griffin was a genuine chance for the Sandover. Hopefully though he learnt something from the experience of having been pitted against Griffin.

I'll give a review just for STT's benefit as it's quite obvious he is a closet Subi fan with his worryingly fanatical obsession with Subi.

Subi absolutely dominated the game from start to finish, there was no lack of endeavour on the EF boys part and they will be a far better unit after another pre-season under Bill. Subi were first to the ball on most occasions and put EF under massive pressure all day which meant the delivery to their forwards was mostly hap hazard and made life for Strnadica and co really hard. In saying that Strnadica was very good with his three goals although I thought he could have played further up field at CHF, so many EF attacks were halted at CHF, he seemed to be stuck between FF & CHF.
We were smashed in the hitouts 56 to 26 but our mids dominated the clearances and hence the inside 50's which were 52 to 30.

Dela was BOG with 30 touches 2 goals and 19 hitouts, closely followed by Ben newton in one of his best games and Clark continues his strong consistent form in his best season for the club. 12 separate goal kickers is what every coach likes to see. Horse is still a great contributor but we are now seeing the other mids like Clark, Newton, Walters and of course Kitch starting to take more responsibility. The back line was rock solid as usual and as BC said Kennedy was back to his best sweeping accros the HB line, Marsh was also very good and continues to improve as he meshes with the team and the game plan, he is a very solid unit. Sokol, Borchet and Newton all hit the scoreboard with the forwards getting silver service from the mids.

the leederville surface is not surprisingly looking pretty rough after 4 weeks and gamedays of heavy rain, not so much yesterday but showers in the morning and preceeding days left the centre and goial squares very muddy, I guess with 2 clubs playing and training on it it will suffer. Would be nice if WC could pay to return it to a sand based oval after demanding it have a victorian style clay base when it was last re-surfaced so they could train on a Vic style ground.

Anyway a really top shelf team effort, looking forward to Claremont next week who are the other form team in the comp, lets hope for a fine week and weekend so the surface can recover and allow 2 teams with loads of talent to show their wares.

Notice SS has the part timer Dela as BOG in his recent review - the same bloke who may have not have been up to taking on Griffin (due to his superior class as a ruckman), well that's dispelled that then. Cheers for that SS

Ooollll...at 194cms Delahunty is a pinch hitting ruckman at best. His work around the ground is fantastic but against the likes of Griffen, Higgins and co he's going to get physically beaten up over time which is not ideal. To put it into perspective he's shorter than Patrick Cripps and on par with Fyfe in terms of height and I don't see either of those 2 going into the ruck any time soon. I'd like to see Josh Chapman get a chance as he's doing ok in the ressies and is still very young but at least it'll give him an opportunity to get some first team experience whilst releasing Dela to play that high mobile half forward type midfield role that he did so well last year.

Dela is our best ruckman regardless of his height. He will probably win a Sandover by being played as a ruckman

Umm Freez not sure if you are aware that subi never lose. That makes it impossible to ‘match it’.

STT....very true mate.....considering clubs only play Subi twice a year nothing stopping them from implementing Subi's bench mark characteristics v the other teams.....but hey let's all bitch about it and sit back and continue to bitch at the Subi boys for supporting a team that wins week in and week out......tho understand your frustration mate....just seen the Crusaders win a hat trick of Super 15 champs, can't seem to shut those annoying Christchurch folk up.....
