BH, from memory Duda was a reasonably genuine transfer. But I think Levitzke was more like Glenn Durnthaler and 2 other East Fremantle (one was a Robinson) who came to Subi as an offering to improve the clubs competitiveness. The League approached the other clubs to more or less donate excess capacity. I always remember EFFC and EPFC came to Subis aid. Don't think any other club contributed and why should hey have.

At that time, SFC was a complete basket case - stoney broke, bunch of players caught in a losing cycle and mentality. Tbh the club deserved to be booted from the comp.

To be a Subi follower then was a real test of character and you needed to be a diehard. But for all the thrashings etc I still have fond memories of the games, the players but not the he club administrators. I would be sued if I said what I thought.

sfcdiehard: thanks for the post -- we also got Alan Rose from South and Alan Walker from the Tigers; you may remember, i am sure, that we actually beat CL by two points in a game the week after the influx of players; there was a big brawl started by ken bell putting a bump on ray smith in the middle of a pack.

Not from Carlton but John Begg came across from Melbourne FC - transferred to South Fremantle about 2 years later
