I'm hoping he goes really well but we'll just have to wait and see I guess. Yes, Holman will be a big catch for the club but there's nothing on the club website in terms of announcements or Holman branding. Maybe the email from Teigan Freeman was a little premature....fingers crossed it's all done and dusted.

From memory the leadership group last year was Horse, Dela, Justin Joyce, Haydn Kennedy and Jordy Lockyer. Horse drops out this year and Josh Deluca, Gus and Benny Newton all come in.

Now, for the benefit of my good buddy ooollll, we just need a couple more top line recruits and we should be good to go in 2019.

A couple more top line recruits! I would be sleeping a mite easier if there was just one more, the depth at the Lions was tested just a little too much for my liking in 2018 and I've an inkling it may get worse this year. Depth is important, though it should be noted not everyone is always going to be league standard but that doesn't mean they play for or love the club.

You crack me up ooollll. :P

Tuggers..that would be up to the S&C guys to a greater extent with input from the coaching staff on what they should be focusing on with this years game plan in mind. According to John Townsend, last year the players went through a near AFL preseason after Schofield identified that fitness was one major difference in the two teams after getting rolled by Freo reserves two years in a row...I would think nothing has changed.

I see the club has officially announced Holman as the major sponsor. That's a great pick up by the club and a good replacement for QBE. shows not every business is running away from the WAFL. Nice to see the club gave its members a heads up about it in an email.

That's a fantastic pickup by the club for the next three years and hopefully beyond. Holman is a WA based company and is growing all the time with offices also in Melbourne and Brisbane with Bunnings being it's main customer. I met the MD Wally Edwards a couple of years ago through work and he's a real character. I was in his office and he brought out the first pink ball used in the Adelaide day/night cricket test which was signed by both Captains. Whoever at the club arranged this partnership should get a big pat on the back.

From the club's website.

The Subiaco Football Club is delighted to announce that Holman has become the club’s new Principal Partner.

The partnership between Subiaco and Holman, will see the irrigation, watering and garden light product business, become Principal Partner for the next three years.

The Subiaco Football Club was established in 1896 and has a proud history within Western Australia most recently based at Leederville Oval, while Holman has been a proud Australian family owned business since 1966 with their head office located at nearby Osborne Park.

Holman currently have strong sponsorship ties within West Australian sport with this partnership to be their first within WAFL football.

Subiaco Football Club Chief Executive Officer Peter Capes was delighted to be able to officially announce Holman as Principal Partner leading up to the commencement of the 2019 season.

“It is great to welcome Holman to the Subiaco Football Club,” Capes said.

“We are delighted to bring on a Principal Partner who are a great West Australian based company and share similar values of contributing back to our local community.”

As part of the new Principal Partnership, both Subiaco and Holman are keen to invest back into the community.

Together the two businesses will be working strongly to encourage a new supporter base to WAFL football, with a focus towards bringing families to Leederville Oval and enjoy the Subiaco Football Club match day environment.

Holman as Principal Partner will be major supporters of all Subiaco’s initiatives within the community, including the club’s major community event, Family Fun Day on Good Friday.

Subiaco Football Club Corporate Manager Cameron Palmer highlighted how crucial the partnership is for the club’s future community growth aspirations.

“We are really excited to build a partnership with a business that is so keen to invest back in our community,” Palmer said.

“Over the past 18 months we have continued to build our footprint in the community and this partnership is a significant step forward in having the resources to become the community pillar we aspire to be.”

The Subiaco Football Club is delighted to welcome Holman as Principal Partner and encourages all Subiaco members and fans to support the businesses that support our club.

Is that the Wally Edwards who was an opening bat for WA and played a few tests in the 70's BC?

yes mate...he was also Chairman of Cricket Australia for a few years as well from about 2011 to 2015. I think he's still on the board of CA and the WACA.
