Similar for me DG except I would put Young at 2 and Heady at 3.

Thanks for your thoughts lads.

Here is my list:

Buckenara 1
Heady 2
Young 3
Schultz 4 -- he kicked nearly two goals a game in a bad side
Headland 5
Sells 6

I forgot to mention Randall and MacNish both of whom would rate in the middle of that group.

Bease -- great list -- it was very sportting of you to include Rod Willet given his history against your beloved black and whites.

I always thought Wayne Goulding was a bit under-ratted as a player, as often he ended up being the defacto full-forward. Michael Mort was a good footballer even on one leg after 1983

Todd Breman, naturally, after the Bunton era, should have played half-forward-flank, but for some unknown reason, the coaches insistted on playing him off a half-back-flank. BH, I never understood it to be honest. With the exception of CHB, the back line, as you know, is where the lesser players play their football, and Breman, was far from being a lesser footballer.

I remember Breman for playing full forward and kicking 4 goals in the 86 premiership. I think he also played there in 88 and kicked a couple but was overshadowed by Georgiades who kicked 6.

BC -- yep, which is why I could never understand him being used in defence later on in his career.

The thing I think we all agree on is Bucky is easily no 1. A once in a lifetime player, had it all, regularly took screemers, pretty much every game, could kick long 60m bombs, was extremely desperate in and under and also good on the outside, yet he was far from hawthorns best when he went to the vfl. What has happened to Aussie rules, the hawks of those days would kill the likes of richmond and western bulldogs...
