AR did Gerry Cotter & Ray Reeves also play a bit at full back occasionally in the early 80s?

BH: 100 per cent correct again. I think Cotter would have replaced Fussell once he got injurred; as you know, before he did his knee in early 1982, Reeves played mainly at centre half back, but certainly would have played full-back during some games particularly if we were in trouble in a game in the last line of defence. After all, Dwayne Lamb did win our fairest best playing from the back-pocket one year.

How did you rate those two, Cotter and Reeves, BH?

I remember Reeves well...as tough as nails and an uncompromising defender...and yes did play mainly across half back.

Yep Cotter was a chb/fb and Reeves mainly hb. I rated both of them. I liked the way Reeves went about it. I always sat near his old man at home games. What a character he was in the old un-politically correct days

Both were handy defenders AR as BC posted Reeves was pretty tough was ex Amateurs player whilst Cotter never really cemented his spot down back and like Reeves and others seemed to disappear when Bunton came on board. Cotter ended up playing in the very strong mighty Kalamunda side in the SFL who were pretty dominate at the time with ex team mates Rod Brown & Gary Armstrong plus a host of other ex WAFL players in Steve Gillespie, John McGuire, Ken Bell, Glen O'Rourke, Rick Ellard, Colin Wilkins et al.
AR whatever happened to Brad Lohoar who was the son of football reporter of the time Rod? He showed some promise early 80s before disappearing from the WAFL scene.

I think Cotter was probably a better player than Reeves but he was always injured and could never get a good run at it

BH: I think Brad had a lot of pressure put on him when he was very young which affectted his football. According to Ric's site he played 17 games in 1980, none in 1981, a few in 1982 and 1984 respectively, for a total of 27 games. He may have had injuries, certainly, by 1984, he would have had a lot of competition in the backline: Crutchfield, Dean, Wilkinson, Reeves, Wallwork, Dean Wilson and Mitch Fussell In fact just looking at that list of backs in 1984, one could argue that Bunton under achieved finishing seventh.
