Great to see Madut back in the league after so many injuries he deserves a good long run of games. He's been in excellent form in the 2's, dominating hitouts which is something we have lacked for many seasons. Dela out is a big loss but balanced by Boltons absence. Young Chris Bryan has unfortunately done his ankle again, top young player who should be looking at a midfield spot in the next season or two. Young Baker sounds like he has the credentials to make it at league level.

Anyone have any news on Halligan and Guinnis.

Great start to the day with our Colts getting over a usually dominant Claremont. I expected the colts to improve under the new development structure but so far they are working above the line.

Madut only had 12 hit outs in the ressies. No kicks, no handballs, etc. Sounds like he may have injured himself again!! :(

Yes looks that way Godinoz. Jackson did a fair bit of ruck work today with Wheeler

Spoke to LaHinch before the game and he said Madut came off with what looked like another knee, if so that may well be the end of him. Fingers crossed for the lad that it's something far less serious as he has a heap of potential.

Interesting game v the Tiges, very intense with endless stoppages as both teams closed up each others space. Not a great spectacle for 2 1/2 qtrs.

Cl jumped us while we had our usual tardy start, locked us down with great pressure on our playmakers, most of our disposals were rushed with the inside 50's doing no favors for the forwards. As usual we got smashed in the hitouts 67 to 26 but Clang and later Jackson toiled incredibly hard to make a contest. Was impressed with Jackson when he went into the ruck at only 190 but 97kg's he was an absolute bull running through the packs and creating space for our mids in the 3rd qtr. Clang was terrific around the ground 22 disposals and a goal and must have been exhausted given no Dela to support him.

Tide started to turn in the second as Phez started to dominate the clearances in what was one of his best games and again clearly BOG with 34 disposals 10 tackles and a goal. Ryan, Sokol and Baker were all starting to look dangerous around goals, Baker, while a real midget has a great future, his skills and footy smarts are very good. CL put a lot of physical pressure on Ryan trying to intimidate him, I was really impressed with his measured reactions, either running rings around his opponent or drawing a free kick from some really silly physical stuff. He ended up with 5 quality goals, a couple in the 3rd were highlight reel stuff. By 3/4 time we had a 2 goal advantage and it was looking like we had worn the Tiges down with our bigger more aggressive bodies around the contests. The last qtr was a romp with the mids doing as they pleased for an 8.3 to 0.2 qtr. Cl looked totally spent halfway into the last.

Our best players from my pov were Phez, Ryan, Clang, Horse, Matera, Heal, Locks & a special mention for 1st gamer Baker with 18 disposals and 2 goals.

I was surprised that Bolton suited up, he played mostly in the pocket or HF, showed his usual class but faded after halftime like many of his team mates. One expects a Harris coached team to leave nothing on the paddock but that was not the case yesterday and gives us a 2 game break over them and 1 over SD going into the bye followed by 2 massive games against Swans and Souths.

And that comes as a surprise to? NO-ONE.

Probably very appropriate that the last WAFL GF has Subiaco as one of the participants.
